What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
Don’t get price reamed with "Audiophile" feet, just get some of these Sorbothane discs or pads in the size and shape you want they range from very soft to hard durometer density for different weights https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&...
Most organic / real / analogue sounding DAC (ideally with Volume Control) for $1500??????
Yes the No.36 dac and No.39 cd-player were some of their best R2R units and sound better than the later Delta Sigma based stuff, and hard to find get for a good price, THEY KNOW😢Cheers George
Inner groove distortion as tonearm moves toward the center of record What is cause??
I remember doing tests even with a perfectly aligned Supex SD1000 in DV505 on Linn LP12, using 3 special CBS test records they sent us. I could even see on the oscilloscope with one of these CBS records of which one whole side is number of tracks ...

Metrum makes their own DAC chips They may make their own discrete R2R resistor boards, like MSB Holo Denafrips ect, but I doubt they have their own R2R chip IC’s manufacturing processes.Cheers George
audiolab 6000 CDT transport
Would you please comment on the slot loading feature? Slot loading units are 99% usually cheap DVD Rom Drives, it’s said they are not the best for doing hiend CD replay.Cheers George

Dacs have very high output. All you need is a passive potentiometer. The best is a Wavac Att-s which can usually be found below £2k. I‘d advise against active preamps because they all add their own sound signature. Really good preamps are hideousl...
Anyone tried the Denafrips CD transport?
Got an email, I understand now, if Denafrips have an agent in your country which I couldn't find, they are the ones you need to purchase from. Australia is even mentioned as partners on the Denafrips website. or even on the world map. From Denafrip...

Brooklyn Bridge or Aurender
Wow George.Does my N100 have this problem? I don’t think so, it would have been madness of Aurender to continue even if it could do MQA with that, after it was exposed with the A10 But it just goes to show the lengths some "may" go to to gain adv...
Brooklyn Bridge or Aurender
I wouldn’t trust anything Aurender did after they did this with their A10 network player/server trying to make MQA seem better than when it was switched out. JA Stereophile Test"However, the A10’s misapplication of the MQA reconstruction filter to...
Phono preamp recommendation (under $1,000)
diceman72 Phono preamp recommendation (under $1,000) For that little money, I’d look at (with $950) a very good "maybe used" solid state (for low output impedance) "high gain" phonostage with >60db or more gain, and then a passive preamp like...
Benchmark DAC1 Volume Control replacement.
this is plastic track Don’t think so, looks like all pcb copper contacts with brass/copper wiper to me, far better than any conductive plastic, cermet or carbon. https://ibb.co/8M51znn click on the pic for a super closeup.Only one thing better fo...

Integrated for bi-amping with AtmaSphere MA1s
@honest1 Review from 6 Moons on the Ascendo ZF3s : "Finally in my opinion these speakers require really powerful amps to drive. It’s not obvious when you check their technical specifications as both sensitivity and impedance seem reasonable but m...
Integrated for bi-amping with AtmaSphere MA1s
honest1 The MA1’s OTL’s would be fast, so you need an amp to blend well with that, and yet have strong bass control, and yet with a good lower mid sound. I don’t think the 30w of the Aleph is the way to go. If you want an integrated that can have ...
