Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
Double blind tests have a place in medicine, at least that's what they say. They certainly have no place in audio. At least inasmuch as they actually prove anything about a device under test.
The "most foolish" loudspeaker tweak/upgrade ... is
If you were cheap enough to settle for the least expensive of the 4 Schweikert models for which he now provides the ULTRA internal wire upgrade, you would undoubtedly be quite pleased to know that the price for the upgrade is NOT $39K, but far les...
Know of a "Dirt Cheap" tweak?
No need to be snippy, Sabai. I started designing and selling acoustic resonators before acoustic resonators were even a gleam in Franck Tchang’s eye. That’s why I know that a SPL meter is the only real way to determine where resonators should be p...
Know of a "Dirt Cheap" tweak?
lexphinSabaiJust a quick note on the Franck Tchang placement. I was really not expecting much.....HOLY CRAP!! was I WRONG! The soundstage opened up in height, width and especially depth. Vocals were so much clearer. I do have a fairly revealing sy...

Barnum never said it. He was a showman not a ripoff. Don't you like the circus?

So, anyway, has anyone played around with 1/2" diameter bowls? Just curious....
Shunmook ebony weight owners
There’s more to these things than meets the eye. Much more. Even the little Shun Mook Mpingo discs are a bit complicated inasmuch as there is a small crystal placed inside the wood and the disc itself is a resonator AND directional. So for the rec...

Sabai, Franck’s guide to locations for resonators is just that - a guide. Even he says that. Every room is different. If your location is off by 6 or 12" that can make all the difference in the world, as you missed the peak. The real locations var...
Quality of outlet not directly powering equipment important?
All circuits, audio and non audio, are connected. This is why it’s important to clean all outlet contacts everywhere in the house. You know, since noise is additive and cumulative, whatever. Dirty contacts and/or loose contacts produce micro arcin...
Know of a "Dirt Cheap" tweak?
You can home in on the very best locations for almost any type of acoustic resonators like the tiny bowls or even tube traps using a SPL meter and a test time of say 315 Hz off one of those test CDS. This will allow very accurate placement of the ...

The real problem with the whole thing is that High Technology especially when linked to NASA or DoD or DARPA is that high technology is as high technology does when it comes to sound quality. Audiophiles are the final arbiters of what actually wor...

Springs are self leveling. Absolute level is obtained by slightly moving one or more spring using thumb and forefinger. Obviously the load should be distributed uniformly when level is an issue. Tip: for CD players absolute level of the spinning d...
The awful truth about CDs, do they have the same shelve life as LP's ?
Be sure to always store all Cs are stored vertically for best sound.  Ditto LPs, DVDs, what  have  you. Cheerios

I’m not crazy about lead. It's a non audiophile-friendly material. Messes up the bass. Don’t take lead for granite. It resonates throughout the system. Try substituting a different material just for grins and I think you’ll see what I mean.
