LS3/5A vs Tannoy
If you are a dynamics or led zeppelin kind of guy the LS35a's might not quite do it for you. On the other hand they excel at things like jazz and pop vocals, violin concertos, string quartets.
Greatest song titles..

Taralabs cables
Innocent question, is it the current or the voltage that's doing the breaking in?
The best speaker you ever heard?
Koss model 1A electrostatic speakers, tri-amped with all tube electronics was very spiffy. Heard them at paragon of sound way back when.
power cables - not in the signal path?
Hey, Mapman, see you finally woke up out of your stupor, welcome back!:-)
power cables - not in the signal path?
Well, not sure I agree with your detective work, unless by "spreads out" you mean absorption and scattering. Low level signals for cell phones work pretty well even though they are "spread out." RF is not necessarily line of sight. Cheers, Geoff

Sabai, thanks for the response. How can you tell the difference between affecting the signal and affecting yourself? Cheers, Geoff
power cables - not in the signal path?
Cbozdog, thanks for the response. I suspect we are pretty close, I am pretty sure ALL electromagnetic waves are actually photons, including Gamma Rays, RF, x-rays, and music signals. RF waves! to take an example do not attenuate much over distance...
power cables - not in the signal path?
One assumes the electromagnetic field, the signal, in the conductor is made up of photons, no?

Hi, Sabai, does the Schumann frequency device operate on the signal (acoustic waves) or on the listener?
audiphile power cords
Devil boy, I suspect your friend might possibly have a conniption if someone told him that interconnects sound better in one direction than the other or that the conductor of one of the new super cables is mostly nickel.
Led Zep Reissue on vinyl
Tonywinc wrote,"CDs sound great; until you hear a good vinyl set-up." Maybe so, on the other hand I can make the statement, vinyl sounds great until you hear a good CD set up. Did you know that in 2001 Stereophile's Mike Fremer, the uber vinyl dud...
Cable "burning": Real or VooDoo ???
I dunno. I had all my power cords and interconnects burned in on the AudioDharma Cable Cooker and cryo'd as soon as I bought them so I never got a chance to A/B the things.

Rocket Man, the last time I looked CD players offer 90 dB of dynamic range whereas turntables offer only 70 dB of dynamic range, if they're lucky. So, according to my calculations that's a difference of 20 dB. What's that, about 100 times better d...

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't CDs provide more dynamic range and Signal to Noise Ratio than LPs? I mean a LOT more.
