Plinth ideas for DENON PD-80 DD turntable
Chakster. The stock DK300 is a nice plinth. Constrained layer. I had a DP80 with an FR64s on it. Actually sounded great. Sold it last year to a friend who really wanted it badly. Just picked up another DP80 on a stone plinth. Wondering if there ar...
Ultrasonic cleaning with kirmuss and loss of high frequency details.
Bose NC headphones cancelled everything out. Nice and quiet cleaning session.
Plinth ideas for DENON PD-80 DD turntable
Just bought a Denon DP80 and it came with a stone plinth. Cut out and mounting holes look like it’s made for DP80. It’s definitly vintage and most likely aftermarket made for Denon. Wondering what plinth it might be.

I use Bose noise cancelling headphones when I do cleaning. The vac machine and the US machine are both very irritating and noisy

I have the same machine. I don’t do what they do. All I do (for brand new or never cleaned records) is to manual wash and vac with a traditional machine then throw it in for a 5 min cycle. Then rinse clean and vac dry. Works well and it unlocks an...
Ypsilon Phaeton + Marten Coltrane Tenor = which DAC?

FR66s vs Ikeda IT-407 CR tonearms
Yes, the Dennesen sound track tor is probably the best tool to set up your FR64 and 66 series tonearms besides his uni/smart tracktors. This was confirmed by Dertonarm before he made the Uni or smart tractors. He also told me that there are many f...
Oracle Delphi mk3 is it worth it
Make sure it’s an original mk3. There are many that have been partially upgraded and claimed to be a mk3. The mk3 is the turning point with new suspension towers. I have seen some mk2 retrofitted with new towers and usually a botched up job by ora...
Best vintage DD turntables from the 70's and 80's?
@chakster Yes I have a Micro Seiki cu180 on mine and centering works properly. The Micro Seiki CU180 does wonders to the sound. I had custom wooden armboards made for the table. Had a Fidelity Research FR66s and a Dynavector 507/2 on it. Served me...
Best vintage DD turntables from the 70's and 80's?
Yes it’s the top of the line. Yes self cantering. I am the original owner. Long story...bought it new old stock. A TechDas replaced it and it really made me realize how good the Nak was. I replaced it under the impression that it would be a big up...
Best vintage DD turntables from the 70's and 80's?
Not many lucky enough to actually see a TX1000 in action. I had mine for approx 13years. It’s one of the best tables around. Stacks up to many Uber high end tables. Finally replaced it last year. Debating if I should sell it or keep it.

Another legend passes. RIP!
ClubWOOD or Shun Mook?
You can go with the Super..it will handle the weight. If budget permits, ultra and giant would be better. Talk to Bill, he is very approachable and helpful
Shun Mook Record Weight
Chrialex, the Shun Mook clamp will definitely work with the Project table you have. It’s not overly heavy. All Shun Mook pieces came laser etched with the logo on it so there wont be much trouble to have them authenticated. And yes the price of th...
SAT 30K+$$ TONEARM: W O R T H T O H A V E I T ?
In analog playback, there are just too many variables that can affect the sound. Measurements while good doesn’t mean for something to sound good. Very rarely does good measurements correlates to good sound. Larryi said it best. Digital measures p...
