Auralic aires / aires mini I would rather be lucky than good any day. I don't know anything about my internet service except that comes through my cable service, and I'm not a techy. My Aries was easy to set up, sounds fantastic into my Wyred4Sound DAC, and works great with...
Auralic Aries users I'm not one to get into all the technical details, but I'm very happy with my Aries. I do use Tidal, and the music selection and quality when played wirelessly thru Chrome on my Macbook is incredible. I have also been successful with an iPad to th...
Thiel 1.6 vs 3.6 in Small(ish) Room I have owned 1.6's and I now own 2.7's. Both are great, depending on the room, but the 2.7's were a real step up, especially on the bass. My guess is the 3.6's are a little much for your room, but what if we are wrong? I would not be able to resi...
Thiel Owners Enjoy! I love the demo 2.7's I picked up a couple year's ago. I run them with an integrated Wyred4Sound, Wyred DAC and Auralic streamer. I think I'll stay with that arrangement for a long while unless I could ever be convinced tubes would be bette...
How Do I set up a 2 Way system, for Movies/Music Have you thought about a sound bar and a sub. Pretty amazing for a smaller room. I was impressed, and I have fairly nice speakers in my main system.
Sonos or Mac as Source? I think I'm going to do the same. I have never had so much trouble getting rid of money. I think I will consider upgrading my W4S Dac DSD to the Se version. That should have the Mini sounding pretty good. All this assumes that controlling the Mini...
Sonos or Mac as Source? I wish there would have been responses to this. I am in almost the same place you are, trying to talk myself out of a Mac Mini. I was going with the Mini to free up my Macbook. Three audio store down sold me from other options to Sonos. Go figure....
MOG to shut down, replaced by Beats Music I thought it was going to $15. And as a follow-up question, does anything beat Beats?
First amp. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these choices. I have a 5 year old Pioneer receiver that serves me well for 5 channel. Just make sure whatever you buy can do what you need as far as connections, and buy as much power as you can comforta...
Seeking DAC advice Not sure if this helps, but when I bought my Wavelength Proton 4 years ago. Last weekend I did an A/B comparison to the $2800 Ayre QB9. The Ayre was better, but not by $2200. We when bought the Proton, we compared it to the Cambridge and the Proto...
Mytek Vs Wyred4Sound DACs The more I research the more confused I get. Now I'm wondering how important DSD is vs. the right sound for my speakers/system. Good to hear the North Star is that good. I have read good reports.
inserting 2 channel preamp My Pioneer Elite receiver goes thru an STI 500 Wyred 4 Sound integrated amp with an HT bypass for movies, and I feed the integrated directly for 2 channel. Also, used a Rotel 1095 as the amp and the Pioneer as a preamp for a while. Both hookups wo...

Magico, Aerial, Dali Don't mean to hijack the question, but is anyone able to compare Legacy's to this trio? I believe I have a room issue as well (20x20 with a high ceiling.)Thanks
Use Marantz 6006 as pre amp to a Rotel 1095? I used the Rotel 1095 in the same manner with a Pioneer receiver with good results. It clearly improved the sound into 4 ohm Thiel speakers. |
