Tuner or Receiver
@audiolabyrinth I'm selling mine https://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ele/6291300794.htmlAnd from what I understand, I'm asking a very reasonable price. I've seen this on the Internet for more than twice what I'm asking. If you are in the NY Long Ar...
Tuner or Receiver
In my mind, the FM tuner has by and large been replaced by Internet radio. While we can argue sound quality, issues of reception are more or less fixed given a stable Internet connection. +1This is why my toy of an FM receiver is not part of my au...
Goldenear Triton Reference vs. One -- Review
@winefix Although you are incorrect, you certainly are entitled to your opinion(s).Best of luck to you and happy listening to those Mirage OMD bookshelf speakers at $300 pair. I’m sure they sound terrific.
Tuner or Receiver
I had a Carver MXR-130 for over 25 years. Up until the tuner went do to a problem with the quartz crystal itself, it was spectacular (sound wise, not necessarily reception wise) for AM/FM.Anyway, can I get some feedback please on the quality or la...
Are future improvements in Amp/PreAmps slowing to a crawl?
When a recording is made of a performance in the hall and the sound waves strike the microphone diaphragm 2 bits of data are saved.1: what is the exact air pressure2: what is the exact moment in time (for that air pressure reading)This assumes 2 c...
Oppo Vs Esoteric
Besides, it looks like a few DACs now-a-days have the HDMI option. So the Oppo can be used as a transport. I don't know of any other transport that has HDMI out for DACs like Bryston BDA-3, Holo or the Vinshine Denafrips DACs.@milpai Not sure it w...
Schiit Ragnarok Problems (Low QA)
I would call them and see what they say first. Unfortunately, Schiit does not answer the phone or return calls. They are only responsive to emails.
Oppo Vs Esoteric
Oppo ppl make a great machine but the other brands you mention are leagues ahead of it. Esoteric, Luxman, Bryston. And how about for video?I feel the need to repeat myself. The Oppo UDP-205 is an **absolutely essential** piece of gear in any serio...
Looking at new amp for Totem Mani-2 signature
I have a Musical Fidelity M6si which I'm very happy with. So I'm curious why you wouldn't consider staying with the brand (MF) you are already familiar with.As to the current/amperage specs, you may want to check out this thread https://forum.audi...
Why is good, deep bass so difficult? - Myths and their Busters
One way to get smooth in-room bass is the distributed multi-sub system. Inevitably, each of the subs generates a unique in-room peak-and-dip pattern (and this is true for any listening location within the room). BUT the SUM of these dissimilar pea...
Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000
Hi Bob. Welcome to the forum. First of all, if you're not an audiophile, you may be in the wrong forum. Just kidding :)What I found curious about the thread title and hence the reason I chose to read/respond, is that I currently own a pair of Gold...
Yggy DAC
Aurender A10 Has a built in DAC. Also it can be hooked up to a outside DAC.   So i hook a Yeggdrasel DAC Up to A , B it. i could hear no difference at all. As I patiently await my Yggdrasil which I expect to receive later this month, I'l...

@winefix The 70% delta/price increase from T1 to TR is beyond *just* sound.http://halr.x10.mx/TritonReference.htm
Why is good, deep bass so difficult? - Myths and their Busters
@erik_squires I haven’t read the articles in your initial post as you state "every audiophile who is dissatisfied with the bass in their room should read these free resources’ and I am not dissatisfied. Give a serious listen to a pair of Golden Ea...
Oppo Vs Esoteric
@boneman73 'Brick Wall' is not the default filter. Mini Phase Fast is. If you have "settled" on brick wall that would be peculiar as that particular filter, unlike the other 6, is primarily a diagnostic use only setting.
