McCormack DNA amp options....
I used to own (wish I still did) a DNA .05 that I had upgraded to the Rev. A. It was (and still is, I'm sure)an outstanding amp in every respect. SMC is very easy to deal with and Steve is easy to get in touch with. I wouldn't hesitate calling him...

Problems getting the best out of my Berning
My earlier response was written without having read all the posts, my apologies...Mine did take quite a while to break-in, and it went through some wild gyrations while doing so. It does keep getting better, and better, AND BETTER. Allan is right ...
Problems getting the best out of my Berning
Hi,I had quite a lot of set up problems in the beginning. I don't think it is tubes, however the amp does sound even better with better tubes. I would carefully read the operations manual again to make certain you haven't missed anything silly (li...
Why vinyl?
I have just begun a rexamination of my life (which of course means a return to vinyl!) and I am finding that while I still love my CD's, I now am able to over look the surface noise on LP's and just enjoy the music. Most of the time (recording dep...
First Sound preamps....feedback please.
I love mine. I have used it with a VAC Ren. 30/30 and now with a Berning ZH270. Low output has never been a problem in my system. If you are concerned, email Emmanuel at FS and ask him his opinion. He his a nice fellow and will be glad to help.Goo...
Wiring a dedicated line
and you need to call one. It is probably something very simple, but the fact is, if you have to ask you should have someone qualified repair your problem.Good Luck.gb
Electrical and Grounding Needs
I agree that the suggestions by Rives are good. The isolation transformer may be a tad expensive though. If you do not use a transformer, the only way to get a true Isolated(in contrast to Dedicated ground)ground, is to have the electrician put an...
Amp shootout.....Tenor 75wi verses Berning ZH270
Hi All,I am a very satisfied Berning ZH270 owner. I have changed my tubes to the same set that Kris has, and yes they have made a very significant difference. That said, I am sure the Tenor's sound is a thing of beauty, and I can only wish for a s...
Question for Cardas Neutral Ref. speaker users
Hi,I use a 14 ft. run with my system, and although I have not compared to a shorter run, I think my system sounds great--no complaints about cables at all. Synergy will come into play so make sure you check out that cardas is what you need.Good luck!
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
The problem for me is this: I've always loved listening to music, but I never let myself buy any truly hi-end equipment until a couple of years ago. Now I can't stop wanting to experience different types of gear. It is an addiction, and it can be ...
Any comments on McCormack amp upgrades
If you like your DNA and plan to keep it long term (and you have the money), it is a no-brainer. Do it.I used to own one and I had Steve upgrade it to a Rev. A, and I loved it. I got the tube fever, and not being able to afford both, I sold my .05...
Best Cd player for under 500
I vote for the Cambridge as well. I have not heard the D500-se, but I used to own the D500, and in my opinion it is one of the best buys in audio.Good luck!
