Do any of you kids , want your system ???
I've always thought those Mac ads banging on about 'heirloom quality' big ugly boxes with sharp edges, are selling a delusion.Like your kids are going to have a suitable home for all those massive boxes. Sad truth: your beloved system is destined ...

If you had access to a time machine, what concerts would you go back to see?
Hawkwind at the Treorgy Tree Festival, 1988.I didn't attend because of personal factors. They played all of my favourites, including Assault and Battery and others from Warrior on the Edge of Time.Alternatively the Stax revue that toured England i...
Worst Concerts You Have Attended ??
Best- the Levellers, numerous times throughout the 90's. Those cats could play. Worst- dead heat between Bob Dylan, Wembley Arena 1989, and the Rolling Stones the last time they played Glastonbury. Actually the Stones were worse, completely unwatc...
Anything SS sounds better than D'Agostino ?
I graduated from Krell to Boulder and never looked back.So much more musical, Boulder amps do a better job of drawing you into the music, and the timbre is in a different league. When i put a 2060 into my system it was as if i had treated my whole...
Why so many angry audiophiles?
Anger is a rational response to current events, and to the failures of others to recognise them for what they are. One half of our nation has been lied to by the media they consume, and had their worst impulses cultivated by those that see politic...
High end Class D amps?
Another vote for Bel Canto.I'm using the Reference 600 monoblocks as a stopgap to drive my Focal Stella Utopias while i save for Boulder 2160. The fun doesn't stop, i can't believe how well they perform
Boulder phono stage
I have a 1008. It's superb, truly full range and very satisfying musically. so i will continue to work my up the lineup, next stop 2008.Imho Boulder gives you everything; the harmonic richness and delicacy of valves, with the bass weight and solid...
One year down, two to go. What's the longest you have saved for one component?
Just in case anyone was wondering what 'trap' was, and why it benefits from four 18 inch subs in a modest sized room...https://youtu.be/N2Y2vQ-1m7M

To skip and cdI agree, Ivor seems to have perfected the true reverse- hp. Once you have the product you're obliged to keep spending to cover the upgrades. Savvy, but certainly causes plenty of grumbling among Linn owners
One year down, two to go. What's the longest you have saved for one component?
Thank you Douglas. I would never claim to have a balanced lifestyle, or one that would work for most people. But it suits me and i am tremendously content.I do have an outstanding ambition. There is a seismic survey station perhaps 8 miles up the ...

To those that have expressed encouragement: thank you☺To those that have expressed concern: again thank you, and a bit more of an explanation.I haven't used credit, this is my own savings plan on my own terms, think of it as reverse hp. I make a p...
Why so obsessed with bass?
The only recordings to contain subsonic energy are a few digital made since ’85.I've read some dumb things on here, but that takes the biscuit
Best 40 to 50k used speakers
Another vote for whichever Focal Utopias fit your room.I have the Stellas myself, the EM bass is just effortless, even in my difficult room (concrete floor, patio windows behind speakers)Amplification?Has to be Boulder. Truly a marriage made in he...
