Benchmark DAC 3B Vs. Schiit Gungnir Multibit and a question.
@rvpiano,I have both a Schiit Gungnir Multibit and two Benchmark DACs in three different systems. In one, a Benchmark DAC2 is connected directly to a Parasound amp. Sounds great (the DAC does have volume control however), but not near as good as m...
Brand new VPI Prime 21 or used Clearaudio Innovation compact
I have had both VPI and Clearaudio tables. Presently have a VPI Classic Signature with 10" 3D arm. Absolutely NO problem with unipivot arm, especially if you add a dual pivot assembly. Great turntable and has many upgrades for arm, speed control, ...
Integrated Tube Amp Demo
Thank you all for the helpful and thoughtful posts. I plan to post the results of my listening experiment in the future, which will likely take a few months. -G
Integrated Tube Amp Demo
@decooney Agreed about burn in. The Rogers amp actually comes with 100 hours of burn in. I will have 30 - 60 days so can actually do 100 hours burn in for each.
Looking for a new integrated amp
I own a Rogue Sphinx. I have had no background noise problems. The integrated amp is powerful, clear, fairly detailed, but bright sounding. I have rolled tubes and the sound has improved, but would not buy again over Class A or AB amp.
Looking for more detail in a speaker

Jazz for someone who doesn't like jazz.
Wow, interesting that all the responses so far completely overlook the whole west coast jazz scene. Start by listening to some Art Pepper or Chet Baker. The best ever played....
Herron VTPH-2A or Manley Chinook mk II phonostage
I would definitely recommend the VPI Classic 3. I believe all the Classic 3's come with 3D arm. Great table and $3K for one in good shape is good price.
Can anyone explain in laymans terms why your gear sound better after warm up
Almarg- thank you for your studied and educated response in layman's terms. Too bad that Millercarbon once again responded in such an aggressive, arrogant, and unstudied way. -G
Why no “Break in” period?
+1 profNice to read logic rather than invective.
Cartridge Selection
@slaw Yes, I do have the dual pivot installed.
How many brands use own drivers?
Clearly B&W
