Just received shipment of my Magnepan LRS’s
I'm not saying you are wrong, but when you get into defining success as only one approach, it seems a bit limiting.  I am new to Magnepan ownership so my definition of seamless may not be the same as yours.   As I listen to the LRS with the two RE...
Just received shipment of my Magnepan LRS’s
@bdp24 Well I am too naively integrating these new LRS with a couple of REL T5s.  I didn't realize they weren't properly working and there is no hope of them ever supplementing the bass properly with the LRS.  What am I missing here, I can't liste...
Step up from Nakamichi 582 tape deck?
Yeah thanks, I had no idea on the tapes.  The Maxell UDXLII in particular still sound great and the case also seems way better than the TDK SA.  I bought probably 3x the Maxell so that's good news too.  I hate to play regular tapes because I belie...
Step up from Nakamichi 582 tape deck?
I am liking it and the sound.  300 bucks.  Making tapes and playing tapes and glad I have a lot of these old Maxell UDXLII 90 mins because they sound a lot better than the std bias UD that is for certain.  I didn't realize they stopped making the ...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
Well we had a nice chat and I learned a few things. Thanks for the update and have a great rest of the year...
Just received shipment of my Magnepan LRS’s
Just read the Stereophile review.  Apparently Herb R. did the testing with tweeters to the inside, and in a small room.  I would think the toe in angle would have to be severe in that case to get the tweeters further away from you.  Some very odd ...

I may be generalizing, but in a smaller room tweeters to the outside, and in a larger room, try both ways.

Whether tweeters are outside or inside, the tweeters should be further from you than the bass section.  I have mine with tweeters on the outside but realistically with toe in it would be close either way.  I suspect the brightness is you hearing m...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
OP has been pretty quiet, I am now curious if he did order the PS M700 and if so what does he think vs. the Bryston 4BSST.  Since the 4BSST was my main amp for many years (and I still own one) this will be a somewhat reasonable comparison...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
Thanks Tim,I appreciate your input (so to speak).  I do like the "straight wire with gain" ala a CJ PV10B design for example.  I won't bash Class D again unless I actually hear one.Karl
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
Running big inefficient Bryston 7BSST2.  Paid 4300 for two of them 10 years old.  Smaller and lighter doesn't do much until I need to move them.  Also just curious about shielding reqts for Class D?  Seems I was reading something about that aspect...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
beeswax, thanks for the comments.  It's a deal killer though to not read CDRs as that's what I already have a lot of and will be recording more of on the old Harmon Kardon CDR20.  I'm actually falling deeply in love with the Rega Planet 2000 that ...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
noble 100 I haven't, I need power and low impedance capability.  I went from 300 watts to 600 watts a channel.  These Infinity Kappa 8s need lots of juice down to literally under an ohm.  Am I missing something in the Class D department?
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
It's interesting how this 7BSST2 combo with the BP26 and MPS-2 improved the sound over my old 4BSST with a BP20 and MPS-1.  I suspect OP will fall in love with the PS Audio and live forever happily in Class D.  Or not.  Really seems a step back, a...
Bryston 4B3 or Ps Audio M700 monoblock?
I know the digital stuff is 5 years but AFAIK the amps and preamps are still 20 years.  I could be wrong, it has happened before.
