Have I mismatched my preamp/amp? So, I gotta say this is a great site. I send tim rawson an email and he responded, and it was a good response. He said typically it should be either 100k ohms or minimum 47k ohms input impedence on his amp, all nicely above the 10:1 or 20:1 ratio. ...
Have I mismatched my preamp/amp? Thanks for the response, but I did not mean I did not like my amp. They sound excellent. I was looking to warm them up a bit. When I said they were brutally sharp, I should of been more expressive, they reproduce the music on the sharper side, I l...
Single Zen Satori Vs. Bi Zu Wax Opinion Please Tobias, Philjolet; Thanks for the wonderful suggestions! I've used the Chesky Ultimate Demo CD and a few other faces to listen for the differences. I will combine both your suggestions, again, thanks for the suggestions. Thats exactly what I was l...
Single Zen Satori Vs. Bi Zu Wax Opinion Please Opps, along with the Rawson amp. I have Totem Hawks. I should of added that to my original post.
Single Zen Satori Vs. Bi Zu Wax Opinion Please In addition I was wondering if someone had similar cables and what there opinions were.
Single Zen Satori Vs. Bi Zu Wax Opinion Please Thanks for taking interest!I honestly have a hard time hearing a lot of audio nuance, so I was hoping someone would say something like; "well the Satori is sweeter in the top end". Then I would listen for that. It's really me trying to learn what ...
P.S. Audio Quintet? Worthwhile? I also have the duet and have to say it made a notable improvement in my system. If I have to describe the change, it made the silence between the notes quieter. I live in an old house and I also changed out my audio receptacles with the porter po...
How can anyone afford this ? Wow! Politics, audio equipment, cash flow and tax's all in 1 thread! Impressive. Back to the main theme, I solidly middle class, put 7 kids through college and have 1 more to go in a few years. Both my wife and I work and I've put together what I ...
Looking to get back into Vinyl. I have to say I love my current setup; VPI Scout w/ jmw 9 memorial arm, dynavector 20x cart and phonomena phono. Well less then 2500 and sounds super. Use all your extra $$$'s on lp's and a record cleaner (if you don't have one).
Suggested impedance Dynavector 20x & VPI Thanks for the response! So, its the gain that allows the volume to be adjusted. I thought it was the impedance! Great, the phonomena has adjustable gain, so I will also play with that.
Where to get an arm board? First of all, thanks for all the great responses! The bonus shot of the Gaboon arm board was excellent, that is a beauty! Audio porn for sure. I'm thinking that I will take a shot at it, I will use my current arm board for the pattern, rough it ou...
Systemdek iix upgrade path to ?? Wow! Tremendous responses, thanks!! I do have the standard Systemdek profile arm.One of the keys I found in the opinions was; "90% of close to prefect" is prefect for me! I don't think my ear or other equipment would know what to do with that othe...
New favorite VINYL Album? Tough choice; David Gilmore "Live in Gdansk" or Beck "Sea Change" they both sound just so good. But they are being shared with the Dead box cd set of the 73 Winterland sets, just great, not the best sonically but real good.
How to listen to the good stuff? What a good question and one I have been struggling with also. I've been on the upgrade path for the last few months and after going around to my local hi-fi shops have decided that for me the best way to learn is to treat places like audiogon as ...
Zu Soul Superfly Extremely compelling arguments from all, I think my greatest hesitation is "on paper, the sound should be good". We know how on paper does not really relate to real world all the time. I do like the face you have 60 or 90 days to audition and retu... |
