CD Treatment Seriously. Mostly I spin cd’s, sometimes lp’s. Both sound good, just different. Just wondering what tweaks may be available for cd’s.
Need some technical help/suggestions Is there a transport available that has sacd playbacks?
CD Treatment Tom, I’m cursed with an allergy to beer. But not wine or scotch. I may just try that treatment tonight! Grab my babe and swing around the dance floor ( our living room).😀
Network Transport vs. CD Transport Audio streaming. It’s a good place to find new music, or provide background, other than that? Meh. I prefer the simplicity of physical media.
Quarantine Project--A Full Range Speaker Kit Cedar, sounds like a fun project, maybe good enuf for the basement or garage and ice cold brewskis. I’m thinking of building a swarm subwoofer system, but with spring just around the corner I’ll probably wait ‘til next winter.
How important is Amplifier Continuous Power matching with Speakers nowadays? My speakers are rated at 300 Watts input, my amps are rated at 600 Watts continuous output and the sound is magnificent. When I have it really loud the amps are putting out maybe 5-6 Watts. As hombre said, not enough power poses a danger to you sp...
End of the World system I already have a cabin on a lake. The only cabin on the lake, with the only access being two ruts that pass as a road. No electricity, propane for lighting and cooking, a wood burning stove for heat. Good fishing and hunting all around. No need fo...
End of the World system I would camp out at the high end hi fi boutique and try every combination that strikes my fancy. Big power into full range speakers. Big power into “bookshelf” speakers. Ladder DACs, delta sigma DACs. Tube vs ss. Metal vs soft tweeter. Cables. Cla...
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Mitch2, yeah well it’s April 20 and still cold here - snow last week and 25 deg F this morning. But sunny, it was sunny. I’ll keep telling myself that. 😬Pan fried. Mashed potatoes. Ice cold beer. We call them Dore in Quebec. Pronounced door-eh.
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Geoffkait, true enuf. He did however, predict orbital precession. His calculations perfectly predicted mercury’s orbit, which is subject to a higher degree of precession than the outer planets. Orbital dynamics using classical physics are not able ...
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Mitch2yes, our ballet is second to none, especially the um, what to call it - contact variety?
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Albert Einstein could predict the orbital precession of a star around a black hole, but not even he could predict the break-in period of a pair of bookshelf speakers. But seriously, I recently purchased a pair of speakers. I demoed them at the dea...
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Goodness gracious. Some of the bright lights on this thread have no sense of humour.
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Okay, here’s the solution to determine if speaker break in is a thing.Buy 1 pair of speakers; connect only one, play it in mono for 6 months. After 6 months connect the other one and listen for the difference. A perfect test, n’est pas?
Break in time that extends to months or maybe even years!! Sounds like a plan. A better plan would be a get together to listen to our favourite music, then to downtown Montreal for a superb restaurant dinner, or to one of our Irish pubs.I've been cooped up too long. Must. Get. Out. |
