New Magnepan 1.7 R
The wonderful thing about our hobby is that our ears refine beauty for each of us on an individual basis. Telling someone else that our personal idea of aural beauty is better that their concept strikes me as somewhat arrogant. While I happen to l...

01-01-10: MacdadtexasReally, are you comparing Usher's to Maggies?? Dude, that's brave. A legendary, universally revered spearker like Maggies and a generic drege like the Usher?? That's bold.----------------I don't care how revered Maggies are, t...
New Magnepan 1.7 R
The 1.6 was the bane of my existence for 8 years. I switched every component around them thinking my lack of enthusiasm for my system couldn't possibly be the maggies. I use to constantly be moving them around, toeing in, toe out, install resistor...
Best version of Moody Blues "Days of Future Passed
I ordered a U.K. 1st pressing on ebay. We'll see how it sounds when it gets here.
gallo reference 3.0 positioning?
You probably just don't like the speakers. Period. I went through this non-sense with Maggie 1.6. I'd move it here, move it there, tilt it back, forward, near, far, use resistors, no resistors. Finally, I sold them and bought new speakers and am n...

Recommendation of a good nearfield speaker
I went for the Proac 1SC and they are awesome. Exactly what I was looking for.
Has anyone heard the VPI Classic yet

Here is another review from today:http://www.hemagazine.com/VPI_30th_Anniversary_Classic_ReviewI ended up buying one months ago. It sounds incredible and the build quality is insane.
Recommendation of a good nearfield speaker
I'd like to sit between 3-5 feet and use stands. I want something where the sound wraps around my head like headphones. Not a speaker with a deep soundstage that fills the room.
Mcintosh Volume control acting erratic
My problems is not only does it get stuck, but it changes on it's own. I have a computer modem within 3 feet and am wondering if that could cause it.
Comments about Nottingham quirks
True, although he does say if it were his money he wouldn't buy one. My local dealer only has the interspace on the floor so there's no way for me to check out the 294 in person. Anyhow, how does the tonearm stay in place? This seemed to be an iss...

It was one of the worst product reviews I've seen in a while. And this from a magazine who almost always gives ambiguously good reviews of everything. It makes me nervous to buy any product by nottingham.
