Excellent analysis of the sound of your bullfrogs, Chris; worthy of a side bar in The Absolute Frog magazine. Or, should it be Fraaag? Interesting how yours sound so different than mine do. And amazing how such a small creature can produce such lo...

Very good explanation of the pronunciation of "project"! I was, of course, kidding re projects. I have so many unfinished ones waiting for retirement that it's not even funny; Forsell, ET2/Forsell shootout, Acutex cart cocobolo body, among others....

Chris, had almost forgotten about those pics. What the pics don't show is that the wire loom is the fourth different type of wire that I have used for my ET2. The AudioNote silver wire in the pic is the fourth, last, and best in my setup and for m...

Slaw, my friend, with all due respect, you've got to get a grip. From my vantage point there is a very strong passive-aggressive bent in the way that you try to have a dialogue; that doesn't work too well for me. Listened to this earlier today (wi...
Extraordinary recordings on vinyl
For the record, Slaw, it was you who said "man-up"; not I.
Disturbing "Sonic Trend" showing up on SOTA audio
I'd like to offer some observations re the pinpoint imaging issue. I don't mean to take liberties with what Schubert and Learsfool are meaning to say, and please correct me if I'm wrong; but, I think that there really is no disagreement. To me, as...

****"In short, you need to be as passionate in your listening as a Musician is in their playing.****Great comment and I couldn't agree more! But, how exactly is it relevant?I think that in it is the key to some of the disagreement about the live m...

Slaw, I made the comment in another thread of yours that you tend to personalize these discussions too readily. Well, you are true to form. To ignore your rant would probably be wise, but ultimately way too easy. I like a challenge :-)Frankly, I h...
Disturbing "Sonic Trend" showing up on SOTA audio
Schubert is exactly right. Few owners of high end systems are devoted concert goers; consequently, the notion of what is truly natural sounding becomes distorted. The idea that the sound of live music is the best standard for judging the fidelity ...
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
Onhwy61, is there something wrong with my link? Works fine at this end. I used my old IPad; maybe that's a problem. "Foxes on a trampoline"? Pretty funny.
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
Some of the most amazing guitar playing by Wes Montgomery on this record; amazing nuance, direction and shape in his solos. And that tone! Check out his "comping" while Jimmy Smith solos.https://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=AQrcyI8zIOw

A couple of thoughts: Slaw, vibrations are not necessarily reflected back to the components as in the case of your sand boxes. The energy turns to heat and is dissipated as such; perhaps no all of it, but I would imagine a substantial amount of it...
Why Listen To FM Radio For Music Anymore At Home?
Point taken. But, I tend to prefer the old-school way. Tell you what 'though, if you ever listened to Phil Schaap you would probably change your mind.
Why Listen To FM Radio For Music Anymore At Home?
Just two weeks ago I heard an absolutely amazing cut by Freddie Hubbard (recognized him immediately) on WBGO out of Newark, NJ; but didn't recognize the tune nor the alto player. I called WBGO and left a message on dj Bob Porter's voicemail inquir...
