Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
@emergingsoul  no, no, and definitely no. Just don’t.

@yyzsantabarbara lol, can’t you humor us and explain how a compressed, and in most cases digitally signed or encrypted signal is broadcasted and lost packets are not retransmitted. Can’t wait for the laughs!   @sns and you, you think that your ...

@jumia just because you have 2 ethernet ports, doesn't change the protocols involved. It's still bidirectional, and it's still error detection and correction involved.    Go with what is proven, and not what someone else is trying to tell you wi...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
@yyzsantabarbara  I certainly did not, here was my answer: "@yyzsantabarbara yeah, no. Read up on what you are typing before you type is my suggestion. If you program this “stuff”, you really should know more than what your post implies, which is...

@yyzsantabarbara yeah, no. Read up on what you are typing before you type is my suggestion. If you program this “stuff”, you really should know more than what your post implies, which is 0. look at the cable itself.  https://www.truecable.com/...

And, final point, Ethernet is a layer 2 protocol. The type of cable does not change this, as the cable is layer 1, regardless if it is fiber or copper, or barbwire (yes, you can run Ethernet over barbwire).

So, here we go again, another thread about bunch of people applying pseudoscience audiophile terms to Ethernet. Nope. Ethernet does not work that way. Ethernet, along with the TCP/IP stack are several layers of error detection and in some layers e...
Batteries in my Audioquest Colorado RCA interconnects
Audioholics did a tests of the audioquest speaker cables with batteries, and no surprise, the measured worse with batteries in than out.
Need suggestions on efficient book shelf speakers for a Pass Labs XA3.5
https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/audiovector-r1-arrete-loudspeaker     audiovector R1, tested in TAS with the pass xa60.8, but the 30 should be plenty.
Looking for a preamp with XLR connections
Classe Delta Pre. Very very quiet, and fantastic overall.
Hint:  Change your Wi-Fi frequency to avoid interference with neighbors router
@erik_squires you are applying a standard to something completely unrelated, like vegan TVs.    lightning surges mainly come through the electrical grid, and can for sure move into your home network if you are not protecting your switches from th...

@erik_squires to put it in simpler terms, what you are talking about is like saying your TV is vegan, sure, it is true, but who cares, you don’t eat TVs.
Hint:  Change your Wi-Fi frequency to avoid interference with neighbors router
@erik_squires  you have not read the standard, so let me educate you: it is a standard for medical devices and how to protect them from spikes in electro magnetic radiation.    so, there you go. You hopefully have 0 medical devices at home, but w...

@erik_squires no hospital in the world is using this, it is 100% to fool audio hobbyists.

@carlsbad what is your budget? If you can swing it, my personal preference is extreme networks. You can probably get away with 2 access points, depending what your are trying to cover. I have three, one on my second floor toward the backyard, one...
