Recommendations for Amp/speaker combo for $10,000 Agree with RW above, speakers and room match are critical early steps as is overall system matching.Harbeths are balanced and revealing on jazz and classical and positioning is important. If pre owned: Pass Labs XP-10, Ayre V-5xe, Harbeth C7-ES3If ...
Pass Labs XP-10 & XP-20 preamps I recently purchased an XP-10 to pair with an Ayre V-5xe. The combination throws a stunning 3D soundstage, revealing musical details, timbre and depth that have always been there, but somehow missing until now. Coming back to separates required mo...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE For the time being, we're really enjoying the Harbeth C7-ES3's. For life is a ling time, though these C7's are truly remarkable!
Upgrading from Rega P5 TT Whetstone audio in Austin, TX has a P9 for $3K. Brian is a great person to deal with.

Best Integrated, period. Hi Jay, auditioned the NCSE for over 2 weeks. The low end weighting and overall balance is subtly, but definitely sweeter IMHO compared to the LE IV. Experimented more and discovered a slight reposition of my C7-ES3's made further improvements in ...
Magnepan durability Maggie's are very revealing and may be more position dependent . As far as durability, never a problem with our own kids.....they learned from a young age. However when the neighbor child visited one day, over one went and it became a trampoline o...

ARC Amp for ProAc Response 2.5? Several years ago I had ProAc 2.5 experience with the ARC 100.2 and Anthem Statement A5. The 100.2 sounded more musical than the A5 at about half the power rating (ARC compared to A5) at the same SPL. Man should not listen by specs alone.

Ayre V-5xe with Dyn c1 signature I don't know the C1sig. Sensitivity wise the amp can drive them no problem. If you listen at levels 90db avg with peaks to 98db, the amp will just run warm and is NOT an issue if ventilated. My speakers are 86db at 6phms sensitivity and sound fant...
Attn: Ayre v-5xe owners More time in the saddle needed, but initial impressions of the XP-10 and V-5xe pairing are excellent for overall tonal balance, tall/deep/wide soundstage and transparency.
Ayre V-5xe/K-5xeMP or Modwright KWA-150/LS-100? The XP-10 arrived and now paired with Ayre V-5xe for demo. Bottom end more authoritative, firm and full with XLR compared to SE through Kimber Hero. Ultra quiet combination, fast w/o etching, transparent 3D soundstage, satisfying top to bottom ton...
