Stones: Sticky FIngers.....
Viridian, I'm confused by your mention of SACD. Sticky Fingers was never released in SACD.Anyway, I have both UK & US first pressings of Sticky Fingers and the US LP sounds better to me and others who have sat down and compared them. THe UK pr...
Graham Phantom Armwand
Jloveys said, "Azimuth is more parallel with Titanium."I don't see why you would think the arm wand material would make a difference with azimuth. The material would have nothing at all to do with proper azimuth. I'm sure the titanium wand is more...
Speakers & the room
I think the foam is the main problem. It simply won't do anything to fix the lower frequencies and it will kill the upper frequencies. Look into some real bass traps and diffusion. Use a minimal amount of foam if you must. If you put enough bass t...
Graham Phantom + Mint LP
The correct spindle to pivot distance for the Phantom is 217.4mmI contacted Bob about this several months ago and he responded. I think his jig works extremely well, although I do agree it does have issues when using the spacer. I just double chec...
Rega's T/T power supply: Is it worth the money?
Miner42 said, I was also told by my dealer that the TTPSU for the P5 & P3/24 are all the same for each dedicated model whereas each P7 TTPSU is matched to the motor; meaning all P7 TTPSU are not alike. With all due respect, your dealer is wrong...
Rega's T/T power supply: Is it worth the money?
Piedpiper, You stated, "Again, the price of the P7 (current list - $2695) includes a dedicated external power supply that is more finely tuned than that available to the P3/24 and P5"Who told you that the P7 has a "more finely tuned" power supply?...
Rega P25-best upgrade
A P5 would have a better chance of giving it a run for its money but a P25? doubt it. Jeff Dorgay of Tone Audio did a comparison with his P25 and his P9, same cartridge on both tables and said that while the upgraded P25 was an overachiever, it di...
Rega P25 Speed Controller
Project Speedbox SE2 ($550) should work with the P25. I know the older Speedbox SE worked because I use it on one of my Rega's.
Upgrade for users of 1/2" mylar belt
Thanks Doug, I made a couple of belts yesterday and used the 1/2" splicing tape since that's what I ordered. I think it will hold just fine. It's a lot stronger than the silver splices I was using. Thanks for your continued support!
Upgrade for users of 1/2" mylar belt
Doug, Is it 1" wide splicing tape you use? I ordered 1/2" wide splicing tape and it's not quite as wide as the Silver tape. I think I ordered the wrong tape now.http://usrecordingmedia-store.stores.yahoo.net/1inch.html
Upgrade for users of 1/2" mylar belt
I just ordered the etching creme. I reread the thread and found it, many thanks. Regarding the splicing tape, Is there any splicing tape available that matches the colour of the tape?
Upgrade for users of 1/2" mylar belt
Hi Doug, Thanks Jfd01 for the link. I'd like to make one of these belts. I haven't had the time to even locate where to purchase the "etching creme"I'd like to see if you can clarify something for me. I've read over your initial instruction and wa...

I'm using the silver tabs. Can you offer a link to the splicing tape you recommend?I'm also using Silver holographic tape. Is there a better type of tape than this? I'm not that keen on the color silver anyway. Thanks for your help Doug!
Upgrade for users of 1/2" mylar belt
I've always had problems with the belt "stretching" at the spliced area so that the adhesive area of the splice becomes exposed after only a few hours of playing. This exposed area becomes larger as time goes by and the larger it gets, the more no...
