2017 Honest Cabling that doesn’t promote bankruptcy
I don't have a vast amount of experience but I am pretty satisfied with the overall tonal balance, frequency extension, and the soundstage. Stager Silver solid IC, terminated Xhadow rca's. Supra 3.4s speaker wire, terminated with Audioquest silver...
Looking for an used, inexpensive pre amp
Maybe an older Van Alstine pre in that price range.
Psvane 300-B Tubes ? ? ?
@liquidsound heard the Emission-Labs 300-B (not the XLS variant) and they sound good however not as good (in my opinion) as my Sophia Princess mesh-plates tubes. Sorry I'm not clear, are you referring to to the Emission-Labs 300b solid plates in y...
Readers Digest Classical Collections should be reissued
Thank you thank you for this heads up. Regretfully I just passed on a readers box set this last weekend at my local DAV. It was in great shape but because it said Readers Digest I foolishly did not even give it a chance.
Tube preamp with or without phono stage?
I've had a working belief in my short audio enthusiast life that less is more. But I get that seperates and their power supplies can and are also beneficial. However in my experience thus far a 2k phono pre didn't come close to making that worth i...
Tube preamp with or without phono stage?
Take a look at Atma-Sphere MP-3. I don't have personal experience but it does seem to have what your looking for. Full function pre w/mm, balanced, and a huge deal for me are the dual L/R vol controls and I'm pretty sure I could run the Statement ...

New in 2017
Very cool thread, I love the suggestions and side stories. I'm glad to hear something positive about the Newvelle work as well.  I picked up an Italian press of Little Village some years back that's wonderful. Luaka Bop is coming out with an Alice...
Grado cartridges still worth the money?
I had an older Reference Sonata that needledoctor let me do a trade in for a Reference1 which made it 1k. I listened to a Dynavector 17d3 and a Benz Glider(not sure now what output) prior as all three were within my budget and for me Grado was the...
PSU's for an Acoustic Revive RR-888 (or RR-777or RR-77)?
Louislwhat power supply did you end up getting? I have a 888 on the way and I'm already thinking ahead.

@reubent thanks for the heads up, with a title like timeless I can imagine where he goes. It's on the list. The one that hooked me onto John was called The Plot. His guitar playing on it is so unique in my experience. It swings, but it's free, eth...
