Why Can't I Get The Right Sound? Krell pre + PSB's Well, the fellows here will ask you about your room, the dimensions, and suggest that you need room treatments. That's one of the mantras here. Personally I have struggled with bass in my room too. I finally went with 2 subs. My family room is too...
Need some cd player advice for redbook only I'm just looking for really nice redbook playback that's on the sweeter, warmer side. Jdnamn97 (Threads)This describes the Raysonic cd128
Power Plant Premier making sound worse? Ok here's my take. The Premier has been good for the sonics in some systems and not good for the sonics in others. I don't understand how it manages this. One would think it would be consistently good or bad. But it seems the system dependency thi...
Fellow McIntosh users - New table top radio Yeh, that price for any table top radio to go in the office is absurd unless you've got money to burn and don't know what to do with it.
Fellow McIntosh users - New table top radio That is ugly. But very retro/vintage looking. So if you like retro then I guess you'll love it. It's way more retro looking than their audio line. I used to have the 6900 but I liked its look.
VH Audio Flavor 4 : Long break in times ? 400 hours is enough time for break in. What gear do you have it hooked to? Or do you mean you cooked it on a cable cooker? I had 2 4's on a dehumidifier for about 400 hours and then put them in the system. At 400 hours then moving them to the syst...
PLEASE HELP ME. NEED ADVICE On many occasions I've read that using a cheater plug is a potentially dangerous thing (fire hazard) therefore I've never done it except as a temporary test. Better to be safe than sorry.
Power Conditioners Recommendations I go straight to the wall with my gear now. For sources I used to have a Hydra 4, Stealth Mini, PS Audio UO and the Premier. All but the Hydra affected dynamics. I've considered trying something else but it's not important enough for the cash outl...
Plinius 9100 and 9200? I owned the 9200 and from my research the line in general is known for a somewhat warmish and laid back sound. The 9200 had a refinement and slight shimmer on the top end. I would characterize it as a very smooth integrated lacking in grain or glare.
Power Conditioners Recommendations The installation cost of a dedicated line(s) will vary depending on the complexity of the installaiton. Easy (cheaper) installs will run in the hundreds; more complex installs can easily run over $1k. I know. I've had estimates.
New Hugh Masekela Reissue Is Outstanding Frankly "Home" is poorly played, produced, arranged, and the recording is nothing to write home about either. IMHO
Looking for integrated w/ good dynamics kick I've owned and auditioned many integrateds in the last 5 years. Bottom line is that the Predator's bass would likely be a different animal if you plopped it down in someone else's system and room with different speakers. (Cft's comments above echo...
New Hugh Masekela Reissue Is Outstanding Thanks Larryken. I listened to samples of it. Sounds great. I don't have any of his stuff. Ordered it.
RIP Freddie Hubbard In some recordings I preferred Freddie Hubbard's style of playing the trumpet over Miles' style. Miles is the best and my favorite, but Freddie blew so hard and great sometimes that it was impossible not to compare him favorably to the greatest. R...
What CD for my Plinius Hiato? Kiwi, I want to compliment you on a detailed and well-written review. But why review the Hiato integrated with only 24 hours of warm up and 120 hours of run in time? It seems to me it would have been more prudent to hold off on a review until the ... |
