Veiwing distance.....
2 to 3x's the width of the set back should be fine for most anything on that set. It will of course be better on 480p dvd and better material. I don't think I'd sweat anthing beyond this range for your size set. I mean, we're talking 30"!...not 60...
Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
Rnm4, that was deeeeeeeep man! I'm a simpleton, and eat Cheerios and such. Could you repeat all that again for me in "simpleton terminology" I'm not sure I got all of what you said there. I only read your post once however. Maybe that's why...duhu!
Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
I'll tell ya why MOST PEOPLES 2 channel system might be better. For one, they're more likely to get lucky getting 2 speakers setup well than 6 or more!!! You couple that with the "ill-placed/setup" subwoofer situation, mating with the other speake...
Denon 3805 can bi-amp itself?
You jokers are really taking the "receiver shrine" to a whohle new level! You should be spending your time on more worth while endevors, like shoping for SEPARATES instead!!!
NY HE Speaker Standouts
Again, I simply would like to see either more "active speaker" offerings by high end manufacturers, or much more highly efficient innovative designs...especially from high end manufactures. I see no legitimate reason this can't happen, be properly...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend?
Anyone tried the "Dakiom" boxes??? I went to dakiom.com and saw this...looks interesting. Do they work? Curious....
NY HE Speaker Standouts
In response to "Rgs92's" comments, I beg to differ in that, there's really not that much more you can expect from a speaker than that's already done in these designs, in the area's I'm mentioned sonically. I mean, how big of a soundstage do you th...
I want to hear what you have to say bout my HT
Actually "bufus", his dimmensions are not so bad at first look. If the difference between 15' and 16' are around 6%-8% difference, that's more ideal actually. If they were closer than 5% and 15'x15', he'd have a real problem to adress, yes! Actual...
NY HE Speaker Standouts
I've almost stopped paying attention to esoteric speakers over the last few years. Seems like there's nothing new under the sun in speaker designs, that acutally makes a differnce! I mean, there have been many speakers that offer the whole "transp...
Can you ever go back and be happy?
I personally think it's great that there are those die-hard "planner/electrostatic" guy's out there, that are into nothing else. Just don't expect to find many HT junkies, rock afficienado's, or metal junkies using these plannar genres for their t...
Anthem processors: AVM20 v. AVM30 v. D1
Jonsher,I'm just curious as your "priority order" here for picking gear....seems you are focusing on the pre/pro and amp and such first, then the speaekrs last. It's all good of course. But you have to know of couse that this is backwards, no? Spe...
Which high-end receiver?
You know, I've not totally kept up with what's sounding/performing these day's in the lower priced pre/pro's. Thes Outlaw 950 is a clean detailed piece, but is only a tad more dynamic than the typical receiver as a pre. Don't know why, it just how...
What are the speaker placements for 7.1 HT setup?
Well I'd be interested to see where you end up putting your speakers, and with which speaker choices you end up with. If you use dirrect radiating speakers all around, localization and distaction from the rears is going to be hard to get away from...
Which Solid State Amplifier is Making you Happy?
Scratch the 7b's dude...no! Class C/B at best, not Class A(someone got a good incentive payout to write that review)You'd be much much better biamping those 803's, using a parasound bass amp on the bottom, and a more refined pristine amp up top fo...
power amplifier through a conditioner
Yep. I think the Richard Gray's do a paralellallellagram thingy with the power stuff for non-limiting, ey?I believe it like cleans the power as it passes by, rather than through, no? Anyone have experience here?also, what's the experience with the...
