Looking for budget reciever for second system. I'd look for a used Jolida 202 or 302b tube integrated, as opposed to a very very sonically compromised SS receiver at that price point! The sonics of the used Jolida will be far far superior to typical Japanese SS stuff.
Many questions about HT pass-through options I agree with Dave's method on a standard preamp, with no "bypass"/"direct" input. The auxilary or whatever works fine. Degrade sound? Not usually a problem really. Just because there's two volume controls in line, doesn't mean degradation IME. Inf...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor Michaeljbrown, the unit I have was upgraded from the factory with 24/192 DAC's, DPLII, DTS Neo6/movie/music, DPLII movie/music, DTS EX processing, 8ch input and, also, direct pass through for ALL 2 channel analog inputs, for sonic purity! Basicall...
HD Sattelite Reciever and analog preamp yeah you should be able to simply insert something like a used quality DD/DTS pre-pro (that has a multi-channel input/bypass) into your Mac's multi-ch input(should have one). The, you can simply connect that to the Mac, digital connection from you...
Are extended warranties necessary on plasmas? LIke anything else in life, you take's yer chances! Me, haveing sold, hundreds, maybe even thousands of extended warranties over the years in retail sales, I don't think most of these things end up panning out in the big scheme of things. Your odd...
Are extended warranties necessary on plasmas? yeah, plasma should not need anything that manufactures shouldn't take care of in a reasonable time frame. After that, you're likely looking at long term product failure, probably after a warranty. Yeah, theyre' pushing a sale here.Really, the old...
ADVICE Please: Best Processor under $3K? I'd like to know about the rest of the system and associated gear really. Also, the room setup would be very hepful. Basically, if you have a difficult speaker/seating setup (especially if one or other, or both are or or against the wall), you mig...
Amp for Krell HTS 5.1 processor The Krell didn't run so hot from my experiences. I believe it runs in Class A for only "some" of the wattage output, like maybe 20%. At idle, I don't think you'll have a problem. could be wrong, as it's been a while.Classe's work well with B&W...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor Acutally Jamesw20, I AM pointing all this towards the actual sonic Merits of the Lexicon vs others!(in this case, the Acurus). If anything, my friendly jousting with Dawgbyte and Rex simply helps state my possition, to clarify what the Lexicon act...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor Dawgbyte, I'm confused by your contradition in stances on the sonic merits of audio gear, in direct comparison to professional audio mag reviews. In another post earlier you stated that Revel Studio's/Salon's are "Bright, and you find them sonical...
Processor hunt....does this animal exist?? Dawgbyte, I'm confused by your contradition in stances on the sonic merits of audio gear, in direct comparison to professional audio mag reviews. Here your stating that this gentlemans Revel Studio's/Salon's are "Bright, and you find them sonicall...
Poll? Seperates or 2ch. tube for better stereo... My recommendation would be to use a Jolida Tube integrated on top, like the JS502b or 801, and go pre-out from there to another bass amp(Parasound's make excellent bass amps) for the bass terminals on those speakers, and biamp em!!!You'll get supe...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor Dawgbyte, my credibility is very much intact, thank you. The statement-"Lexicon's RV-8 is a literal monument to home theater receiver performance and functionality.", is NOT A GLOWING REVIEW OF SONIC EXCELLENCE!...this should be obvious! Also, thi...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor Not a problem. To each his own indeed. However, you decide....you'll find no professional reviews that describe the Lexicon's sound as pristine, high-end, refined, audiophile-grade, or world class sonically, etc...none! You make you're own assumpt...
Best Bang for the Buck on a Used Center Speaker??? Yeah,...what dtsag and Mcfarland said. You can't mis-match a center speaker to L/R's, and get a believeable, coherent soundstage that dissappears! It's just EXACTLY like having a different Left and right speaker. It's no different. |
