AaronTull. What can you say. So much great music and lyrics.   Missed them in their hey day, but have attended two recent performances at the Palace theatres in Greensburg Pa. Great venue.I cannot select one favorite, but JT is right up there.  Wh...

Benjie and RaulThanks.  It is obvious that I side with “it doesn’t matter which protractor you use.”   Maybe I should look into this more.  Nah...I’ll just listen to music.
Mint LP provides Stevenson Alignment
First off, I don’t claim ability to enlighten experts here.  I have enjoyed my records for a long time without  protractors like those mentioned in this thread.  The overhang distance is provided by the tonearm manufacturers.  I say estimate and e...
GO PATS!
Not digging the half time show.  Will anyone ever match Prince’s wonderful show?  Probably not.

Eyeballingyes tp the record surface.  A good perfectly flat record, selected by eyeballing.  The platter is already level determined by....you guessed it... a level.  If the cantilever is straight, as it should be, then a 90 degree angle should be...

I level the platter. Level the tonearm. Overhang as best I can estimate.  Eyeball cantilever alignment at two null points. Then be careful with tracking force.  Adjust as necessary. Seems to work.   What is a protractor?  Lol
The truth about why modern music is so awful.
lohanimal mentioned “instant gratification”. Got me thinking this is the driving motivation of recorded music.   We can play what we want, where we want, when we want.  Over and over and over again. The time machine aspect is, well, miraculous.   ...

8 track CRUSHES CD,Vinyl and everything else!!!
The topic is 8 track.Reel to reel is quite different from the old, back in the day, technology which was indeed mainly intended for car audio.   I am stunned at how expensive new r to r music costs.  Pretty sure they sound incredible though.

Great thread nitrobobMusic and gear lovers all over the states and the world.  Gives me reason to think things aren’t quite as bad as they seem.  I toured the great Mayan ruins site of Tikal in Guatemala yesterday.   A bit of culture shock crept i...

I started out with four track tapes and a Muntz player.   Sometimes cars crushed them because I threw them out the window in frustration after they unraveled.   Not going back. Nope.

Hey RICH Audiophiles
I believe chasing women is a lot cheaper than marrying one.  Single women tend to tolerate audiophiles more as well.
How to DIY yourself very nice Class D monoblocks
I purchased a Wyred 4 Sound  St 1000 mk2 to drive Magnepan1.7s.   Excellent. I ran it with the preamp section of my McIntosh MA6900 and thought wow the Maggie’s do like lots of juice.Class D is great and will interest many more young audiophiles.
