What are the best receptacles and plugs?
You might also consider fellow A-goner Albert Porter's cryo'd Hubbels which work great in my system (after a lenghty break in) and sell for $36.00 I believe.
What's your favorite Patricia Barber album?
Hi:Glad to see you like Verse. Not many do in my experience -but I think it's great too. You could try Companion - recorded live at the Green Mill - I think it's out (or will be soon) on SACD as well. I've got all her CD's so I'm biased, but I rea...
Review: Marantz Marantz DV-8400 & SA-14 vs. others CD Player

All the time! There's no better way to forget the equipment - whether tibes or SS - and simply enjoy the music. Besides, my system always seems to sound better in the dark. A glass of Single Malt doesn't hurt either.
Glossary of terms for the audiofile venacular ?
Check back issues of The Absolute Sound. For example, the 1992/93 Guide to High End Audio Components has a great article entitled "How to Read The Absolute Sound". Unfortunately, you'll probably have to get this and others from your local library....

Don't know about someone else's, but at my funeral they'll be playing: "Tango Til They're Sore" by Tom Waits off Holly Cole's "Temptations" and "Here It Is" off Leonard Cohen's "Ten New Songs" - both great CDs musically and sonically.
