Speaker footers – Ugh I use Home depot Back yard patio blocks 2" thick and 10" wide by 18" deep and the Spikes that came with my Revel F52's over a hard wood floor. I also tilted the block and I have the best sound I ever had with these speakers with this combination

Are Harbeth S HL5's As Good As Reviewers Claim? I herd them at a friends house hooked up to Oddysey Statos Extreem amps and a Wadia CD player. I was not impressed. They did sound muddy and lack of air I owned Spendor SP1/2e and thought they were much better

Kimber 8tc w/ Mark Levinson 23.5 and Revel F52 I own the F52 and have a Pass X250 amp. I originally had the TC8 and then did the tube mod on it and still thought it was holding back my system. On a whim I went to radio shack and bought the Mega cable 50 feet for $25 and made 4 equal lengths. I...

Can Frequency Sweeps Damage Speakers? The way you do it, is start with the 1k and get the volume at 80 to 85 db as a reference then keep it at that level and check all the other frequencies
The Harbeth phenomenon I have a friend that had HL5's with a good front end. I was not impressed. especially for the price. They sounded lifeless to me in his room. For the sake of friendship I sd nothing. I have owned Spendor SP1/2e and found them to be an excellent sp...
McIntosh XR-7 setup with MQ-104? On the cheep, go get a $50 Radioshack analyzer and a Test tone cd. Start with the 1K tone and set the volume for 85 db. Then do a reading at each octive at the same volume then put numbers on a graph and then adjust the 104 as needed
Very interesting radio shack vs. audioquest I have just been a Radio Shack Mega cable convert. These replaced Modded Kimber 8tc and Elco Silver for my Revel F52's. I have one word to say CLARITY. These cables openend my speakers up from top to bottom. Crystal clear highs and cymbal. Bass th...

802d for a 10x13 room, 8ft ceiling - am I nuts? I agree about not getting all I can out of my speakers in my small room, but I cant reproduce with monitors and sub, what I'm getting from my revel F52's. I tried. The monititos/sub gave ame a little better midrange, but no where near the soundsta...
802d for a 10x13 room, 8ft ceiling - am I nuts? I have a 10.5' x 18' with Revel F52's. It took a lot of work. But I have the best sound I have ever had before. It took 6 panels and a home made Bass trap. An investment of about $400 made the room listenable. So if those are the speakers you want... |
