The Rapid Rise (& Fall) of the CD
@kennymacc "If you attend any high end audio show from here to Kalamazoo, you'll see turn tables spinning vinyl records in just about every room.  However, when you look around that room, you'll see practically nobody but middle age older people s...

Are your records a health concern?
Life is short and filled with enough challenges, enjoy the little pleasantries instead of worrying about this nonsense
Amplifier Power tubes - important to sound?
"Because McIntosh Tube Amplifiers are engineered to use Tubes in a way that does not rely on the Tube’s individual character and can perform perfectly provided the specifications are met, there is no advantage to seeking out expensive esoteric tub...
Review on Linear Tube Audio Aero DAC
@wig  I believe that i had read that the Project's output was optimized for AES/EBU. My SimAudio 260DT I discovered via communication with them was as well. As @soix  stated it is a drawback with the LTA not having the other two type outputs as yo...
Those magical days when the HVAC is off
@bigkidz +1 On another site a member was chest puffing about all the money he spent on his dedicated listen room, dedicated lines, and equipment, but then stated that he needs to disconnect his refrigerator to maximize his listening experience. O...
Those magical days when the HVAC is off
Not going to argue whether or not a system sounds better without the AC/furnace running , but it would seem that sitting in an uncomfortable room as the temp rises would create a distraction in an of itself from enjoying the music. I live in a sub...
Main Stream, from Vera-fi Audio
@sgordon1  Did you have Puron's or another brand of plug in conditioner before the Main and if so how do you contrast them?  I'm particularly interested in your experience if vs the Puron.
Quality of recording while evaluating speakers
@emergingsoul These two statements of yours are examples of why it is hard to take anything you post seriously @9:47 am "Makes me thankful for what I have put together because it actually does sound pretty good overall." @11:26 am "Truth is...
Any Experience with Furutech Unfiltered Power Distributors
"If a power strip doesn’t change sound quality, it’s a win!" No kidding. My point re: the e TP60 was contrasting @stereo5’s comment on the eTP80 "... and very dynamic"   As far as the NCF Clearline goes  my point was  that it in fact does nothi...
Any Experience with Furutech Unfiltered Power Distributors
I have an eTP60 sitting on a shelf, yes it isn't an NCF,  nicely built but didn't add anything to benefit the SQ. . Likewise, no benefit from using an NCF Clearline power conditioner
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
@emergingsoul  Maybe do your homework/research on specific speaker options for whatever amplifiers you own and then maybe you can take your own advice and buy new. That is , if in fact you are really going down the purchase path. "though same ex...
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
There's a track record of nonsense in this case
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
@emergingsoul " If you "know" that it is a con game then why are you even purportedly even considering $50K speakers and wasting everyone's time.
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
Like I thought you haven’t made a deal. And go look at the discoun5s offered on demos and discontinued lines versus blathering it's 20-30 %. Look at the Sound by Singer demo sales page as an example. Seeing an add at a discounted price isn’t walki...
