Its antennaperformance.com; Its called the "In-tenna" and the finished version is actually $400.
Outdoor FM Antennas Used Indoors (Urban)
I own the FM-2G and a Fanfare FT-1A. I've found that the FM-2G is very sensitive to location. When it was indoors I wasn't "wowed" with the whole set-up. When I moved it out on the balcony, NW corner and covered, and hung it from the cover/roof it...
Your Listening chair
I was at a dealer one time who used these large high back chairs that were also enclosed, you know the ones that cover your head and stuff from the side, and the top. I found that when I was trying to audition the speakers the sound dramatically c...
fm reception
I own the Fanfare FM-2G and have been working with it the past few days connected my Fanfare ft-1a tuner. I also have a yagi style from radio shack that I'm going to dig out too and experiment with. I haven't had enough time with the FM-2G to tell...
Stupid question about WAMM. Is it really
I can't imagine them being that good, of course I've never heard 'em. I've heard the X-1 series I and was not the least impressed; I wouldn't have even given $10k for them.
Van Alstine products
I own an all Fet/Valve system w/ an omega IV dac, biro speakers, parasound cd transport, and a fanfare tuner. I like it and can't think of anything better for the money. Seriously, if my income ever affords me to spend close to five-figures for ea...
Help! Deciding btwn several 2.5K spkrs
Well your certainly open-minded about things and that's good. If I recall I have heard the KEF's and I've heard the Linn Keilidhs, not the 2150's (sp.) and alot of JMlab stuff one day at a dealer (Big ones with Tube technology amps running them). ...
Replacing my tweeters a good idea?
Do not replace the tweeters. A better tweeter won't necessarily give better performance; loudspeakers are systems. You might get a few things better with the new tweeter, but you'll probably sacrifice a whole lot of other things because that tweet...
Do CD-R's sound the same as originals
Kocho, is the dye material used at all a significant factor (from cynine to phthalocyanine sp?, etc.). I've heard that the better CD-R's take the laser info more cleanly since it is a "physcial" process, regardless of the accuracy of the machines ...
Question from a Poor Pass owner
Actually, I believe a light bulb uses the same amount of electricity in the initial turn on as it does just to run for 30 minutes. So you actually waste more electricity turning the lights on and off everytime you leave the room, (depending upon h...
Blue-tac or spikes?
I own a pair of Biro L/1 and some nice heavy soundstyle stands and I put mousepads between the speaker and the stand. The cheap basic black ran me $2.99 each and covers the entire top plate (make sure they're the squigy kind, some really cheap one...
Am I heading in the right direction?
Ya, I wouldn't let the THX certification or lack thereof bother you too much. I could be wrong about the specifics of THX but I believe if a product doesn't pass in any of the categories it isn't legitimate. E.g. a subwoofer that can't hit a certi...
<2K amp for Shearwaters
I would buy a Van Alstine Omega III at about a $1000 for those speakers. It is solid state, but I don't think there is anything intrinsically special about a tube. If your just dying to have them their fet/valve line are hybrid vacuum tube solid-s...
Do Velodyne speakers sound good?not subs
I have a pair of the LD2's and I will say that they do sound distinctly different from alot of speakers. Its been a while since I heard them because my sister now has them. They are very clean and pristine sounding; even if you are a foot from the...
Sytem advice Upgrade? Help!!
I wouldn't do a tube amp at all, but its just because I'm from the transistor camp. I'm not saying that there aren't some nice tube amps out there, but solid-state does it better, and for cheaper. There is way too much romanticism surrounding thos...
