Turntable here. Maine radio content is scant at best, and the NPR affiliate just keeps getting blander and blander. I have many may hundreds of CD's and a PLEX-based media server, but I've been listening overwhelmingly to LP's for the past 4-5 yea...
Furman Reference IT 15i power conditioner
I have just finished installing a Furman IT-Reference 15i into my system. Purchased 9-of-10 used for $1150. This is my first experience with power conditioning beyond the IsoMAX units. Observations:(A) I think it's a real shame that all of eleven ...

If you solicit offers, shouldn't you respond?
"I see no reason to respond when an offer is purely stupid."If "I'll meet your price if you throw in shipping" (for a BluRay player) is stupid, I give up.

A followup: the item has apparently been sold. It seems that rather than using the auction option here the seller (who put no 'buy it now' option on the listing) was conducting an undeclared auction, using offers rather than bids.

I don't think that not responding is an appropriate answer under any circumstance: I was just raised better. This isn't a biker bar.But I don't know the Audiogon style, so maybe it's appropriate to be rude here. The seller had solid feedback: 100%...
Rega RP3 Bias/Anti-Skate
Interesting! I most likely forgot this, and went for the 'most logical' approach. Thanks.
Rega RP3 Bias/Anti-Skate
You can adjust antiskate on the fly with no problem (unless you #$%# it up, LOL!)Many Rega owners bypass the spring-loaded VTF mechanism on their tonearms by setting the tracking force dial to minimum and then using the counterweight's position to...
Wood glue method of record cleaning
It has worked for me, although I reserve it for my old-since-teens beat favorites. I've read page after page of online discussion of this method and have never read a single mention of a stylus or cantilever actually having been damaged. When you ...
James Blake tracking problem.
Everything I've heard of his has stoooopid loud bass, and perhaps your vinyl simply was cut appropriately. That's a big tradeoff in vinyl cutting: how to handle the low end.
Early pressings v remastered
A few technical notes (I was an active recording engineer from the mid 1970's to the mid 2000's):"There aren't so many behind the mixing desk today who really know what to do." --- This comes up a lot these days in online discussions; comments abo...
