Anthem ARC - Well, it's not that great.
@erik_squires  interested if you have ever used/ heard a Trinnov altitudeprocessor. I’m in the middle of a way too long, home theater, build and have been considering the anthem Avm90, the new Marantz cinema, or the trinnov.  The only challenge b...

Sony UBP-X800M2 And a D.BOB might work. All the units mentioned in this thread show up often enough in used market.
Buying New TV Need A Soundbar Recommendation
We have an lg Model:SP9YA which I think is really good. I have a revel Ultima 2/ JL Audio home theater in a different room in the basement so i at least have a baseline.  Setup is simple, wireless sub connected seamlessly, and it fills a 16x32 roo...
Panasonic Plasma
To answer your question my understanding is yes that is an effective way to check hours. Got that from avsforum in one of the plasma threads. I own 3 VT, 1 ZT, 1 ST, and 2 PZ800u sets.     they all work great.  Make sure you have adequate power p...
Understanding MQA/tidal/ DA conversion
appreciate the suggestion, my constraint is we have a TIDAL family plan so we're all paying $30 a piece for the full year, so will have this for at least the next year or more as I'm the only one who cares about the HIFI component, the rest just l...
Marantz SR7007 amp issue
Thanks for the responses - I'm trying to find a schematic of where the fuses are as I am a bit of a novice on popping open the hood on these devices. One other note- zone 2 works just fine.  I've heard that sometimes these receivers get 'stuck' thi...
Casters to replace spikes
Some really good suggestions all, appreciate the responses. As I was a finance and language major in college, in layman’s terms, can someone elaborate on the whole decoupling aspect ? I’m holding that with spikes on carpet for instance one is tryi...
Casters to replace spikes
Hi- based on my email receipt the gliders are the “Cone/Spike Decoupling Glider” that were $17.00 a piece 4 years ago. Speakers I think are about 130 lbs per side.  These are in a basement on cement foundation with what seems almost like commercia...
Casters to replace spikes
Appreciate all the responses.  I will add that the Studio2's are crossed over around 80Hz to a pair of JL F212V2 subs which handle the deeper bass.  Maybe the impact wouldn't be so bad?  Again my room is not treated and has other bass issues to be...
Casters to replace spikes
Hi - thanks for the response.  As noted I'm 100% for some compromise, and purely focused on whether there are specifcally made casters to either connect directly w speakers, or that could accept floor spikes in some way.  I'm aware this will also ...
What Have You Done With Your Obsolete/Outdated AV Receivers & Preamps? 😳
I recently posted for free on Craigslist some old stuff I inherited, Bose acoustimass 5 set, Panasonic dvd-a120 , Panasonic vcr and Yamaha 740 receiver from 2002. I literally had 20 hits on it in an hour. Keep it out of the landfill if it works! C...
Anyone have this problem?
Have you tried switching hdmi cables?  I know it sounds dumb and “digital is digital” but just today was trying everything to get a Nintendo switch console working and finally went from the cheap hdmi cable (which I know does work) to an older but...
Dedicated line question
Thanks everyone for the input.  I think I have my answer - basically if the equipment says it needs a dedicated line (purely for power pull), and I have one breaker connected to multiple outlets, but only the component in question is plugged in an...
Dedicated line question
Sorry the question Iis focused purely on electrical draw. I’m aware of all the preferences around noise etc. this is just my lack of knowledge of electrical. I’m guessing if nothing else is ever drawing current on the other outlets and I’m suppose...
