Who has Luv for the Lyngdorf 2170 and is thinking about the 3400.
Just got an in house demo of 2170 today.Wow! I am blown away. It has changed my entire notion of my audiophile journey and preconceptions: tubes, a sweet spot, separate components, speaker positioning -- they all seem so unnecessary. All that audi...
Who has Luv for the Lyngdorf 2170 and is thinking about the 3400.
Like @uberwaltz I was in the market to downsize to a <10000$ SS integrated from my current setup of tube monoblocks. I had zeroed in between the Luxman or an Accuphase class A integrated. But this thread has made me curious about the Lyngdorf a...
Luxman L590AXii vs Accuphase E-650 for a Shindo lover
@restock Thanks for your input. Very interested that as a Shindo and O/96 user, you like Accuphase. Just the person I wanted feedback from.Just another question, how is the lower freq (bass) performance of Accuphase, does it beat your prev Shindo ...
Luxman L590AXii vs Accuphase E-650 for a Shindo lover
Yes, there is a Shindo Apetite tube integrated. But I want to move to a SS integrated that is supported by a dealer (Shindo has no dealers here).@jond I want to try SS, cause I want to keep the amps on all the time, switching on the tubes and waiti...
Verity speakers opinions/experience?
I have dreaming/hunting Verity speakers for years after listening to a pair of Parsifals at someone’s house in SF a few years ago.During this hunt I came across the Verity Amadis at a store in LA, the best audiophile experience I have had in a sho...
Esoteric N-05 Network player vs Bricasti M1SE with network card
I am the OP, I just wanted to add that I am considering a third unit as well. I should have just edited the post :)Removed the post to avoid confusion.
Dated but still A rated DACs
+1 on the Luxman D-06
Dated but still A rated DACs
The AMR DP-777 is a keeper, best DAC according to me in the 2.5K used range. I went through a lot of DACs in this price range before settling on AMR. It can compete with a vinyl rig of the same price as its MRP (I tested this out), couldn't make o...
Solid state DAC under 12K retail preferably with ethernet
@drstarbug32 Do you know if the gold version is better than the SE version sonically? It looks fabulous for sure, but wondering if the added $$$ also translates to better sound.
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
As a silent follower of this thread for years.I am waiting to see the Audioexotics acclaimed Trinity DAC and the Wadax Atlantis in Matt's audio room. I feel like it will happen soon, now that with Boulder DAC @mattnshilp has breached the 60K mark :)
Step down transformer (220V to 100/110V) or buy 220V version of Shindo preamp
Sorry for the confusion, I used to live in the USA until last year, now I live in India, so it would be, 220V -> 110V or 100V (depending on whether I buy from USA dealer or Japan).@erik_squires What is a balanced transformer?
JEFF ROWLAND AERIS WITH PSU AND AURENDER W20 OR ESOTERIC N-01
Isn't the JR Aeries (very well reputed) but a bit old now? Given the speed of innovation in the digital world these days, perhaps it might be wiser to wait for Esoteric N-01 reviews to come out before deciding.I am in the same boat as OP, and am w...
Solid state DAC under 12K retail preferably with ethernet
Esoteric has the D-01 streaming DAC that is out with ethernet and everything. Wonder how it's going to turn out. This DAC with ethernet space is heating up.
Solid state DAC under 12K retail preferably with ethernet
I think there is enough consensus coming around the fact that ethernet is better than USB, that I am starting to believe, although never having tested it myself.@limniscate  if you look at the latest review of Ayre DAC, the review does mention tha...
