Cardas Clear Speaker Cables - From cable skeptic to beliver in one fell swoop
@russ75 I have no doubts that if I were to audition the Clear Beyond cables I might be setting myself up for financial suicide. Thanks but No Thanks :) I'll just have to learn to live with my cheap bog standard Clear's instead ;)@davidpritchard Lo...
Cardas Clear Speaker Cables - From cable skeptic to beliver in one fell swoop
I'm not a fan of adding another box or doodad directly in the signal path between my amp and the speaker. There are plenty of those doodads in the amp and speaker already.Besides that, after seeing pics of what's inside that MIT box I quickly lost...
Cardas Clear Speaker Cables - From cable skeptic to beliver in one fell swoop
@almarg Thanks for the detailed response Al. The increasing capacitance value does somewhat concern me in that when I go to purchase these cables I will actually need a 4m length in my setup. I borrowed the 3m length due to its immediate availabil...
Cardas Clear Speaker Cables - From cable skeptic to beliver in one fell swoop
A point that may be relevant is that Cardas Clear has a capacitance of 278 pf/foot, which is considerably higher than the capacitance of most other speaker cables. Mogami 2921 is more like 30 pf/foot. And by any chance was the Cardas Clear you tri...

Cables are system dependent; therefore you can't get upset when someone doesn't like them. I too tried Cardas Clear in my system and found them dark, without detail. If they're great in your system, simple enjoy them. Not sure if this was for me...

jmcgrogan2..Thanks for your response. Yes if you ever have the opportunity to take a listen to the Clear speaker cables I don't think you will be disappointed. As another point...I think the beauty of the Cable Co lending library is that it allows ...

Stringreen..I would be very interested in hearing about which Cardas cables you tried that made you feel they were the worst you've heard in your system and what you are using now that you feel bettered them?As you say cables are very system depen...

Power Re Generator capacity questions
I'm not sure what the OP's target budget is but I do see mention of a P10 so I'm inclined to think a budget of about $4-4.5K.Assuming any of the above is correct then I would recommend you give the Torus RM line or Bryston BIT line a close look fo...
Isolation Transformers -- Equitech or Torus?
@ptss Thats an easy answer, because the majority of dealers of any audio product has a level of knowledge only as deep as the info found on the public flyer found on the manufacturers website of the wares they are selling.Would you contact a deale...
Powerful, smallish floorstanders with high WAF?
Magico S3 should fit the bill here. 12" square footprint, good looks and excellent at doing the job they were designed to do.Bring your wallet
Hypex Ncore NC400
While I've never used a bridged NCore 400 amp I have used a quad amp'd non-bridged NC400 amp setup for about two years powering a pair of B&W 803D2's. During that time I was very impressed with what I heard. You haven't heard a true almost zer...
Who tried Class D only to return to S/S or Tube
I think the main reason some folks dislike the "good" Class D of today who have actually tried it in their own systems is because they haven't let themselves adjust to hearing how a musical presentation sounds without audible distortion interferin...
I Dislike new format
I can't imagine how anyone would prefer the old format over the new one. The old format was as generic as generic gets. The only thing I always hated about this forum was the required Mod approval for every post before it was viewable. This regulat...
Asylum Powercord. Has anyone tried this power cord
I've been using two of these on my Hypex NC400 amps for the pat two years and hve no complaints. I often wonder if it would be better to try another, larger gauge power cord just to see if I can squeeze more bass slam out of the system but I won't...
