Goldfinger Statement, Lyra Atlas or Ortofon Anna? I still can't see my post from yesterday, so we go again."My favorites in alphabetical order are:Clearaudio Goldfinger StatementLyra AtlasOrtofon MC Anna"I heard the first one in the list. IMO a platinum Koetsu would match your preferences best.
Goldfinger Statement, Lyra Atlas or Ortofon Anna? A platinum Koetsu will be a possible answer to your preferences.
Cartridge Recommendation Koetsu RSP. It's a good match with the Technics. Actually it was designed on this turntable. With 16g effective tonearm mass the Reed should support the Koetsu. I found 1.95g. to be optimal tracking weight.
How do I remove gunk from a Lyra Delos cartridge? I had a similar problem. The MoFi and Clearaudio liquids do an excellent job. Make sure you don't have a new build-up in a week or so.
What's the best unipivot to arm ever made? Another vote for the Aro. It is best for my playback preferences.
Cartridge Experts You've probably had the damper changed. A softer one will give you a higher compliance. Harder suspension means lower compliance. The shorter cantilever gives more attack, rhythm, timing. I believe van den Hul uses 6 and 7mm boron cantilevers.
Upgraded to Clearaudio Goldfinger Statement? Same direction: imaging, detail, resolution.
Upgraded to Clearaudio Goldfinger Statement? Lui,I have heard both GFs - v2 and Statement. The latter is an improvement and, if you like the sound of the GF, you can't go wrong with the Statement.
MoFi So Long So Wrong There is sibilance, especially on the last track of side 2, but IMHO it has more to do with Alisson Krauss' voice. This is evident on other LPs of her.
Cartridge Loading and Compliance Laws Hi Toni,I agree about compliance and cartridge suspension. The questions are:1. Does a heavier c/weight increase the eff. arm mass?2. Is the tracking better with the c/weight closer to the pivot? The above is my experience and I'd like to read othe...
Cartridge Loading and Compliance Laws "Some arms have multiple weight systems, so if you can use a heavier counterbalance weight closer to the arm bearings that will get you lower effective mass as opposed to lighter weights further out."What is the theory behind this? The heavier cou...
Your favourite cartridge "Did you like these all the same, or did one or two of thesesuit your taste a little more. Certainly all four are top-tier cartridges."I prefer them to the rest. Sadly, not all of them are good match to my favorite arm. As stated in the original p...
Your favourite cartridge I had the pleasure to try the best. In alphabetical order: Clearaudio Goldfinger, DV XV1t, Koetsu Blue Lace, vdH Condor XPP.
Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth" This is probably a cartridge/arm Compliance issue. I had the same problem with a stone Koetsu, when I used the standard counterweight on the arm. When I put the heavier counterweight the song on the a.m. LP was flawless, no tracking issues at all....
Koetsu loading Samleung,That sounds reasonable. I always set the arm parallel to a 180g LP. I have the feeling that the bottom end of the stone is not parallel to the LP in this case. Maybe it's a design feature. What are your resistor and caps values, unless yo... |
