I have to agree with Drubin- for me it is tonal purity. I guess to be totally honest with myself my perception of tonal purity is probably influenced by imaging, transparency and frequency extension, but they are all means to an end- losing myself...
Is there a Musical HT Receiver....?
I have been very happy with my Nakamichi AV10; it sounds quite good to my ears. I auditioned many of the Denon and Marantz receivers in the sub $2K range and this was the hands down winner, at least for me. You should be able to get one new for ar...
Speaker Cable Jolida302a/Castle Richmond
What is your price range? I am using Alpha-Core Goertz MI2with my Jolida 502A and it sounds quite good (it is a ribbontype cable, but without the overly bright character that I have heard the Nordost is supposed to have). The goertzruns about $170...

Best cables for electrostats?
Thanks for all the great info and suggestions. I think I'm leaning towards either the Magnan Reference, the Oval 9 or the Goertz. Has anyone compared these in their system? Also, one final question- would I be better off with a copper or a silver ...
Electrostat repair in Boston?

Marantz or Denon receiver ?
You might also want to check out the Nakamichi AV10; I listened to the various Denon, Marantz, and Harmon Kardon receivers at around 1-1.5K and this was (to my ears) the best of the bunch. You should be able to get a new one for between $900-1000....
Great Acoustic Guitar Recordings
Try Phil Keaggy's "The Wind in the Wheat" and "Beyond Nature". I don't remember if it is all strictly acoustic, but both are all instrumental.
