Subwoofer for music only ?
Stereo Bass, Bass with Imaging! overtones, harmonics overtones emanate from the primary note, thus they are from the driver that makes the primary/fundamental note, (not another driver). doesn’t matter what your crossover is set at, whatever pr...
Speakers On Wheels?
aside from the cabinet's rigidity, you want stability. My speakers, 3 wheels (firm dual wheel axels) the tops are slanted, some of Donna's favorite things on top. It doesn't matter where I move them, they are stable, nothing vibrates/moves even a...
Speakers On Wheels?
if you speakers weigh 100 lbs. 4 wheels = 25lbs/wheel 3 wheels = 33 lbs/w. that's + 1/3 MORE weight/wheel, thus less likely to move/vibrate. ........................... any floor, even a hard flat one, can have imperfections from dead flat. t...
Speakers On Wheels?
get advice from caster specialists   make sure you can return them, until you get the right size/type that works for you. if sized right, they stay put, until you push hard enough to get them moving. no brake required if sized right. beli...

Speakers On Wheels?
I forgot to mention, sometimes I need to get the speakers out of the way. Yay wheels. Holidays, extra leaves in the table, 14 chairs around the table, the speakers get rolled back into the corners to make room to get around the table. They still...
Speakers On Wheels?
I advocate wheels for heavy speakers, slip surfaces for medium sized (sized so speaker doesn't move, but moves with effort). to help find best and then alternate locations and alternate toe-in my optional positioning, comments 3 wheels/slip she...

moving coil loading
I went from knowing nothing to learning here, then researching ... for myself and friends. I made a virtual system with copies of SUT pages I have gathered sut info you will need to increase your screen’s zoom to read some charts ................
moving coil loading
must be an error, load impedance guidance: probably 100 ohms, not 10. gain and load are inverse. high gain/low load. low gain/high load yours is a difficult combination of very low signal strength and 8 ohm resistance. an X Factor of 25 would b...
Can a poorly connected XLR connection cause a reduced(less loud) signal?
In my case, similar to yours, it turned out to be the XLR cable itself
Step down transformer for a turntable
A small decent transformer (nothing big or expensive, just avoid cheap) is all that is needed, no hum, absolutely transparent. (I use Amazon because easy return IF ...) My only concern is to forget my JVC TT81 is 100 v, and forgetting to put the ...
18 inch subwoofer vs multiple 12 inch subwoofers with bookshelf speakers
Bass becomes directional due to it’s overtones, thus bass imaging is possible A stereo pair of subs, adjacent to the fronts, no port, if so, front port only.
Can someone pls help in giving some comments / feedback
IF considering tubes, the pre-amp is the place to start IMO
