The best speaker for a small room...at any price point.
Consider future system changes. If you limit yourself to choices of high sensitivity/efficient speakers, then, now and/or future, you will be able to use lower power amps successfully. Then your amp choices become many, opportunities for a great d...

erik, does that mean a stronger input signal, from a preamp with more gain (less attenuation), boosted by amps +28db will result in higher volume output, especially important for lower sensitivity speakers like OP is asking about?
Whats playing on your system today?
LP fans might find this interesting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linn_Records I think I requested it before it was released, an offer by Linn to promote their new Linn Records, and Linn sent me this for free.

amp 'new to me', it's a used amp, MK1 to get the 16 ohm taps. Newer versions make tube bias both easy and safe.

can you add tone controls to a primaluna HP integrated amp
BEFORE:I advise getting a sound meter and studying how to use it in various locations in your listening area. Then, move your speakers around a bit, keep checking, before adding tone controls. You will be ready, knowing what frequencies you want t...

the relationship of strong or stronger signal going from preamp into an amp, and whether the amp can therefore produce more power for low sensitivity speakers (or any) has not been answered.I do not know for sure, but Isuspect the amp cannot produ...

2000-2500 USD budget for an integrated amplifier. Do amplifiers sound the same? :)
You already know it is the speakers and room interactions; or headphones which are speakers without room interactions.Digital: I agree, properly matched to other gear and the speaker's impedance and very importantly to the speaker's efficiency, ne...
Buy a pair of ten year old $40,000 speakers for $4,000 or new ones at that price point?
Let's assume you already have a darn good system, i.e. speaker choice that sound darn good in your room. Beyond your budget 'might' give 'better' results. Oh boy, what a deal! You skipped the first question, even free, will they be 'better'? Likel...
