What is wrong with my system?
nice stuff, so investigate, patiently, before spending any real money.my first instinct is to buy all common in-expensive cables, lamp cord for the speakers, change them all. listen, clues?.......................................no significant diff...

Turntables That Can Accommodate Longer Tonearms
It looked better before I squeezed the 3rd arm on. I gained the functionality, but ....wanting fixed cartridge on the long arm made changing headshells on the rear arm more important, thus the 3rd arm for Mono to go.

I use a weight, wide, keeping the lp both flat, thus grooves are not angled improperly as a slight center rise will create, and helping the groove vibrations more solidly reaching the stylus, rather than some vibration taken by the lp’s ability to...

I like your idea of a Mono Garage speaker, next is: what content?. I just finished listening to Benny Carter Quartet Mono, 1959, ’Swingin’ the 20’s’. Mono cartridge, preamp L+R > L speaker only. As I write, I just listened to a Stereo LP the sa...
Is great sound possible through an on-board, MM phono stage?
glennewdick You don’t need a SUT for MM or MI, Assuming you have only 1 MM Phono Input (preamp or integrated):IF you have 1 arm with removable headshell, and a few cartridges, one being a MC, then a SUT for the MC with only 1 input will do: IF it ...
Is great sound possible through an on-board, MM phono stage?
Yes, can sound great, and then you get the simplicity and conveniences of integrated remote control, but You are wise to seek comments about SPECIFIC models, I always advise return option for any phono stage, or anything with built-in phono, SUT ....

Turntables That Can Accommodate Longer Tonearms
I wanted a long arm, then I learned here how playing mono LP’s with a true mono cartridge sounds better (definitely does, degree of improvement varies from a little to definitely a lot).so, I found a JVC CL-P2 Plinth with 2 removable arm-boards, I...
