LOL...has this now turned into a forum on "Sean" responses...LOL...yet again a plethora of information...I almost feel that there is really no need to post a question in the forum...just email Sean personally...keep up the good work Sean, and inve...
Any advice on car audio?
I was into car audio for quite some time and built a number of systems (separates & subs) for my cars including a 1984 VW GTI, a 1988 Toyota 4Runner, a 1988 Porsche 911 and a 1994 SeaRay 180BR...yes...a boat...then I got into home audio and ne...
Does your system's sound change with the weather?
Maybe those rainy days are when people decide to upgrade...eh? That might be why they say that it is good to save for a rainy day...lol.
Speakers and Stands. What do you use between them?
Blue Tack between my CDM1nt's and the stands...with a small ball of it near each corner (1/2" ball should do), my speakers have never budged...you can get it at wal mart for 1/5 the price of the audio related places...same stuff too.
Denon 5803 in 2-channel stereo
It was the 4k unit (3999 actually...and no discount available)...must have been the 5803 or its predecessor as it was about 2 years ago...they also had the 3802 at the store but in a different room...my apologies...got the # mixed up...still think...
Denon 5803 in 2-channel stereo
I initially auditioned my B&W CDM1nt's on a Denon 5802...probably not tooo much different than the 5803...At home I use a Bryston B60 integrated amp and in my opinion, it hands down is the better sounding of the two...even with only 60+ wpc......
Talkin' bout YOUR generation...
I'm 35, so in 1980 or so, I was listening to Black Flag...I would probably hate to hear how it sounds on my stereo now vs my old boom box.Ellery
Love is certainly but is music...?
Music is a wonderful stress relieving therapy for me.
Rotel vs Musical Fidelity
I think you can do much better than Rotel for the money you want to spend...and even more so if you are willing to buy used. I am using a Bryston B60 with CDM 1NT's and am happy with the sound however, it would not be enough power for the 9NT's I ...
Why Don't People Search The Forum Archives?
I agree and I always search the forums, but also as Pbb points out, beginners should still be made to feel welcome...maybe an "in a nutshell reply" and then point them into the direction of searching the forums correctly as Albertporter suggested ...
Did you ever just want to simplify?
oh...also...I'd need that combi player to have a volume control (dont know if those exist)...or do they?2 channel home theater zen...ahhhhh
Did you ever just want to simplify?
Mine's already pretty simple, but I am an extreme minimalist...what would be the ideal for me would be 2 active monitors (PMC etc.) and just one GOOD dvd/cd/sacd player...oh...and a pint size room shaking sub. Just dont know if there would be draw...
What happen to finishing speakers like furniture?
They still do...but they are expensive...for the most part...but I definitely hear ya
Best Budget Integrated Hands down
I'm quite happy with my Bryston B60 integrated, however, if I were to "trade up", I would probably either consider the Creek 5350SE or the Plinius 8150...I think that it also depends on what speakers you plan on driving...I am using B&W CDM1nt...
Best overall Speakers for $2,500.00 or less, New?
Spend less than the $7000 you have budgeted on your pre-amp mentioned in your other post and use some of those funds for better speakers.just my 2cEllery
