Best and Worst Websites in Audio'dom
One of my least favorites if Musical Fidelity....they dont' cover a lot of their products. Conrad Johnson I will second.
WAF, Help, Need Strategy
Mostly I think it depends on how much she gets into the end result: good sound. My wife and I are just getting into the audiophile thing. About 6 months ago I broached the subject of a stereo upgrade, maybe some Paradigm Studio 40's. She had heard...
I have a confession to make
You know, I was looking through numerous auctions and advertisements yesterday and came across the very product you need, only $799.00....and the great thing is, if you put several of them inline the benefits are cumulative. You are lucky man, rea...

Paradigm Speaker Question:
If your dealer sells Paradigm can't he order a pair for you?
What happen to finishing speakers like furniture?
My Thiels are a beautiful amberwood, stained dark and lacquered. The craftsmanship is top shelf. I dread the thought of any damage to the finish. The kids better stay away! :)
Krell v. Theta
I believe the Audible Illusions L2 line stage has an A/V passthrough. I'm not entirely sure how this is implemented but I asked my salesman in passing and he said, ya, sure, that would work great. The L2 retails at approximately $2300.00 new.Anyon...
The Best Audio Dealer
Freds Sound of Music, Portland Oregon. Great store, friendly, helpful to a fault. Give em a try.
severe limiting factor
I just upgraded my CD player (see my above post) to a Sony DVP-555ES and boy, what a difference! I will reiterate my belief that you need to get those suckers about 8 feet apart and sit roughly 9 feet back, slightly toed in. Try out hanging some b...
Stereo SACD on a Multi SACD player?
Hey, thanks for the quick response! I now am in the SACD world...the Dylan sampler that came with the player sounds pretty sweet already. Funny, I am picking up my MF Tri-Vista 21 DAC next week, hope I use it =D
severe limiting factor
I have the Thiel CS2.4s and can't imagine a problem with imaging. I have mine nearly 9 feet, center to center and sit about 11 feet from them. I am using a total POS Sony DVD player ($160.00 at Good Guys) and I have a great soundstage and imaging ...
Bryston 4B-SST vs. 6B-SST
Funny, I find myself in the same exact boat. I have considered the Theta Dreadnaught II and both Bryston units. I have only 2 front speakers now, but want to get into HT fairly soon. There are plusses and minuses for each situation. The Theta can ...
So I heard some B&W Signature 805s today...
My wife and I auditioned the B&W's and JM Labs before deciding on the Thiel CS2.4's. They are far superior to everything we auditioned in my opinion. They are, however, not forgiving of other components shortcomings, particularly source.
Toslink to SPDIF RCA digital converter
I have two units that do the same. The first is a Theta Timebase Linque Conditioner that is both a jitter reducer as well as converts toslink to SPIDF. It has an optical and SPIDIF input and SPIDIF only output. It runs used from $130-$250. The sec...
Digital Front End: Critical Listening
I just added a Genesis Digital Lens to my system and WOW! My transport is just a cheapie Sony DVD player a'la Good Guys ($175.00). My DAC is the one onboard my Rotel integrated PRE/PRO. My system went from nearly unlistenable to incredibly detaile...
