Prima 24/192 How good does it really sound
I could not say it any better than Warrenh did. It does perform. Mine is about 2 years old and I have no complaints. I too listen to Jazz with a little R&B. I really believe this cdp was made for this kind of music because every single detail ...
Vibration Problem
Chevy, take a look at HRS avisolation Nimbus cups and couplers. I am using 3 of them with my Audio Aero cdp without any problems. They do work better if there is a platform of some sort underneath them. Providing some type of mass will deaden the ...
Speaker Upgrade?
Wiley, search for Kinima on that ebay listing. There is plenty of info there.
integrated suggestions
Audio Aero Prima. Tube pre, mosfet out. I have the mk1 with 3 inputs and a pre-out. Check website for more info.
Speaker Upgrade?
Wiley, take a look at the Kinima G3s on ebay. Read the info there and check Zetagcorp website. I have the G1s with Audio Aero and it works out great. Zetag did go belly up, but the remaining few speakers left are going about a quater of what the r...
Ground loop, cheater plugs, power cords, many ques
Holzhauer, Subaruguru, tried that, done that. As Suburuguru stated, it can be a dangerous thing to do. I really have not done anything the last couple weeks cause of time restaints, but the audio ground loop isolator in the rca line from CATV box ...
Favorite integrated amp?
Capt, Try Audio Aero Prima int. out. You should be able to get a used one for less than what you are looking to spend. Hybrid amp with a ECC88 tube and Mosfet for the power. Website would have more info on this. Mine is an MKI with 3inputs, pre ou...
Ground loop, cheater plugs, power cords, many ques
Sub, thanks again for the response. I did read somewhere that it is better to disable the ground at the IEC, not at the prong. I just can't seem to find that article anywhere. My pc's are van den Hul Mainstream whose conn. are not heatshrinked. I ...
A/V receiver for decoding and center/rear
Satch, nothing should blow up on ya. I am doing the same thing your suggesting, using the pre-outs from the receiver to the integraded amp, with cdp to the amp. Two things should be addressed. One, if you are using a subwoofer, where do you want t...
Your Holiday/Christmas Favorite Recordings
Larry Carlton - Christmas at my House.
Smooth jazz recommendations
Look for a thread on Denny Jiossa. There might be one on Brian Hughes also. After that, Larry Carlton, Norman Brown(After the Storm), Fourplay, Rippingtons, Fattburger, Chieli Minucci, Ray Obiedo (Modern World), Bob James (Morning Noon and Night),...
What is the best tweak?
Power cables. Never thought a ac cable would have as much impact as compared to isolation, speaker cables or anyother tweak. The ironic thing is the power cables were the least expensive of everything else. Go figure.
New York-UPSTATE
Whl248, I might be able to make it on the seventh of Feruary. I do work a shift schedule 24-7. I have not checked next years schedule out, if I am working, this is a good excuse for a vacation day. This stuff sure as h beats work. I used to live i...
Integrated Amp -- $1,500 or less.
Try a Audio Aero Prima amp. I bought my mkI last year used, put a new tube in and replaced the power cord. It already had Cardas post and rca's, Kimber caps and a Alps volume control. All this for under a grand! If you can find one, try it out. Th...
Ground loop, cheater plugs, power cords, many ques
Everyone, thank you for the replies, keep em coming. What I am trying to avoid is, as Sub suggested, a compromising adapter in the cords. Now I know that putting a ground switch in does exist, I can look into it. For breaking off the ground prong, ...
