Need Advice on Downsizing :- Keep the speakers and CDP. Sell all the cables, amps and pre amp and buy Magnum Dynalab 208 receiver Kimber PBJ cable and Audioquest Midnight cable. You wont even notice the difference. Stay strong!

What amp/pre-amp for my Klipschorns? Not exclusively tubes. One of the most impressive sounding set-up was NAD monoblocks and K-horns. But that was sometime in mid 80's, and nowdays choices are virtualy unlimited. You might be able to get nice SET amps, or even push-pull amplifier, b...

Speakers for Conrad-Johnson MV-60 I was listening three way Cabasse Skiff, but was auditioning lower priced Farella with cav 50 integrated. Farella/CAV 50 was obviously inferior combo to the Skiff/CJ? amp. The Skiff was dynamic, detailed and what impressed me most was tight, reali...
Newbie needing experts' advice Expert(s)? Hardly. I would look into Cabasse Skiff, here on audiogon for $1500. Check under "Speaker suggestions for CJ MV60" just couple of threads down.
Speakers for Conrad-Johnson MV-60 I always thought that CJ sound is too 'tubey' for my taste, and that they hide certain amount of information. However, once i had chance to hear CJ amp (i do not remember what model) with Cabasse speakers, and sound was fantastic! I believe they w...
Are Linn Tukans a bit on the bright side? Tukans CAN sound 'tin' in bright room, and it is interesting that nobody mentioned or asked about source component? If good analog or Linn's own Mimik or even better Karik CDP was used i believe that would alienate most of the problems. So, evalua...

"Downsizing" to a maybe better CDP? Not, that i just think you should keep Karik, but you should ad Numerik DAC! It would be probably one of the best digital sources you could have for the money! At least it would be complimentary to your gear. Well if $$ is in question, what i unde...
Setting up my new used Linn system -- advice? If you take a look at the Linn K-400, you'll see that is designed for active bi-amping with the Linn 'activ' cards, so it is basicaly a double run of two wires, totaling four on each end. Two goes into Majik and two into LK-85 and all four into Tu...
Setting up my new used Linn system -- advice? LK400 cable is all you need to bi-amp.(see my review on Audioreview.com) You just need to 'separate' them with sharp knife so they can reach your LK85. If you have Linn interconnects you will be fine, unless you want to upgrade to the Linn silver ...
