H2O Owner Survey ?
It looks like the H2o amp uses the ICE module which produces 500 watts into 4 ohms. The newer 1000 watt ICE module reportedly is significantly improved in ways other than power capability. I wonder when Mr Ho will come out with another amp.
H2O Owner Survey ?
Muralman1...The discussion was about reliability, and fears about service from a startup company, not sound. The ICE module comprises most of the amp. Repair of non-ICE parts, like connectors and powercords, don't require specialized knowledge of ...
Subwoofer 3D Illusion
At some low frequency, determined by the spacing between them, the sub and the mains are driving the whole room in "push-pull" manner.
H2O Owner Survey ?
The utilization of the ICE module puts a new light on the question of purchasing a product from a new company. An ICE module is an ICE module regardless of who packaged it up with a chassis, power supply, and connectors. (I exaggerate only slightly).
Magnepan Speakers - Ribbon Replacement
Maggie ribbons do have a reputation for blowing out, and this reputation would not exist if there were no truth to it. On the other hand some people don't have a problem, so it probably depends on the amplifier used and how the user treats the spe...
balanced outputs
Again there is confusion between a "balanced" interface, and "complementary" circuitry. Complementary circuitry may have unbalanced input, and vice versa.Balanced interconnects avoid noise pickup in the wires, and only in the wires. But, for any d...
Which Universal Player has Beefiest Power Supply?
A disc player has very modest power requirements. For a power amp, the DC power supply is very important, but for a disc player it is way down the list of things to worry about.
Is this ludicrous or not?
Sounds like Walker's Extreme SST is strong medicine. Just a sniff, or a few sips, and any amp sounds great!.
cdp digital volume control or preamp?
Boa2..Although I don't know exactly how your volume control is designed, the manufacturers statement is entirely believable. Of course "audible" can mean anything in the audiophile arena. People who can hear the difference between different jumper...
cdp digital volume control or preamp?
Jazzdude..."Volume control in the digital domain always results in the loss of resolution, -1-bit/6db below unity gain." NOT SO! They do not work by dropping (shifting to be exact) bits.If you had ever actually used a digital volume control you wo...
Who makes quality sealed box speakers?
According to what I have read, a PR system is fundamentally the same as a ported system, except it is more easily tuned by mass loading the PR instead of changing port dimensions. Also it avoids the port "wind" noise problem. One interesting variat...
cdp digital volume control or preamp?
It is incorrect to say that a digital volume control necessarily loses information. One would need to look at exactly how a digital volume control is implemented, but one way would be as a stepped attenuator (pure analog) with the mechanical switc...

In reviewing the web info, it is helpful to speak French. Some, but not all info is available in English.

why spikes under speakers???
S7horton..."knowledgeable" on this subject, perhaps, but that's not the same as "intelligent".
