Measuring speakers The Behringer DEQ2496 has a spectrum analyser function, and is cheap enough to be bought simply for this feature. (About $350 including microphone). Much easier to use than the RS meter and test CDs.Furthermore, after you see your in-room frequenc...
High pass quality to mains uisng Velodyne DD subs Rwwear..."unincumbered"??? The idea of the crossover is to free the main speakers from the burden of unproductive LF cone motion.
A CD that is Multichannel Markphd...Monitoring my DEQ2496 it is evident that the two rear channels are not the same. Their levels are different, and not always the same way as would be the case for a simple gain discrepancy.Whatever, it works.
Subwoofer Phase Darkmoebius...Sure, but it won't be slam dunk easy as with the spectrum analyser. In general it is easier to find a minimum (notch) than a maximum.
A CD that is Multichannel Jeffreybehr...Yes, my processor is taking the digital data stream from the CD and applying Dolby PL2 processing. That's how Dolby works. I can do this with any disc. But the result with this particular disk is far and away more effective, and the ...
New Company-Daber Audio It's nice that you are talented regarding speaker construction. Unfortunately marketing and industry connections will have more to do with your financial status than the sound of your product. Good luck.
Subwoofer Phase Another great use for a spectrum analyser! Play the white noise signal and mess around with the phase until you get a deep sharp notch at the SW crossover frequency. Then set the phase 180 degrees from this setting.
A CD that is Multichannel Jeffreybehr...It's more than that. A quick check of track 1 of this CD, (Overture) using my Behringer DEQ2496 analysers shows rear channels within a few dB of the front left and right, and a center channel signal that is about 6 dB down from the f...
what is the purpose of a stereo system ? Ben...I often hear new recordings when I am in my car, and then go home and order them. It was the music I liked, not my stock Honda radio.
what is the purpose of a stereo system ? Ben...Some people have more than one hobby. Being a music lover does not prohibit a technical interest in electronics and/or loudspeakers, phono pickups, and other audio hardware. I myself live two lives, as an engineer and an artist. This is not ...
What happened to the loudness control? inpepinnovations@aol.com...Sorry guys. I didn't intend to confuse you with facts! Actually I dug up my data in answer to Spatialking's specific request. And the data was taken in the first place for Sean.
Is a good Cermic Cartridge an Oxymoron? Google "ceramic phono cartridge" and you will find a great deal of information (that I was unaware of). There is at least one respectable cartridge, priced near $80, that is said to track as low as 2 grams. Almost worth trying one just for fun. Wa...
Is a good Cermic Cartridge an Oxymoron? Narrod...I'll take your word for it. I never used such record players. I just can't visualize the geometry of the device.
Is a good Cermic Cartridge an Oxymoron? Long ago, about 1958 or so, someone (Stanton maybe) made an effort to market a ceramic pickup which was about as good as the magnetics of that time. However, ceramics had gained such a reputation for cheap low fidelity and high tracking force that...
Are some tracks impossible to track? Qdrone...God has more important things to worry about than antiskating force. |
