Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's Lance if I had to guess I'd say the pair of ESL 300s (very similar I would think to the 800s) would sound more powerful and dynamic than the JC-1s. The JC-1s don't have the powerful character of most powerful amps I've tried, but I think they'd be...
Grizzly Bears new album? Yeah these guys are really great. I can't wait for a new album too.
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's Lance, I had the Innersound speakers as well and I will add that I had trouble powering them with the 300 ESL. I could clip the amp fairly easy. Whenever I wanted to crank them up it was a real problem. I got the 800 monos and that mostly solved t...
What's a better tweak/upgrade? USB DAC or ERT The DAC for sure
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's I own the JC-1s and have owned the 300 and 800 watt Innersound amps. The 300 watt Innersound is a great buy at around 1200 used. I think the 300 watt Innersound is just as powerful sounding as the 400 watt JC-1s. The JC-1s are sweeter and a little...
Why Mac Mini Over Slim Systems Products? I have had the Mac Mini via USB output with either a Wavelength Cosecant or MHDT Paradisea + DAC for a couple of years now. I have had zero trouble and it sounds great, better than any CD player I have owned. I have almost 2 TB of rips at this poi...
Best amp for NHT Classic 3 Just make sure whatever you get has a lot of power the more the better. I had the Classic 3s for a little while and they sounded dull and boring with 30, 60 and 100 watt integrateds. When I hooked up a 300 watt amp to them, they came to life. I re...
matching tt to music Coldn't you get away with the high output version of the Dynavector 20X? It has as high an output as most mm carts. That is a pretty good cart and very musical. I might suggest you consider upgrading the cart on your Scout to the next step up in t...
lps sound bad Not that you seem to interested in anyone's suggestions but I might offer that you would want to consider a better cartridge. You have a good one, but even the next step up in the Dynavector line is substantial. As one other poster mentioned he fe...
cables are they worth it? If you have the possiblity of spending thousands on cables, don't do it! Upgrade you preamp and amp, that will do far more for your sound than a cable upgrade.
Downgrading... Is it possible??? Suggestions Duane, we are Ok with the fires up here thanks, now if the smoke would go away. I was thinking ATC might be a good idea. I've never heard them but it seems like guys go crazy for them. Do you know someone who owns them?Well I tried a little experi...
Speakers: $3,000-$4,000 on Audiogon For around 2200 used you can't go wrong with the VR4jrs. They are a fabulous speaker for that money. For a little more than you are wanting to spend you could get the SR version. You get more substantial bass and a smoother more sophisticated soun...
Best Power amps in $7000 range Hey I understand what you mean when you say I've been through amps and I have realized that I only want a high powered one at this point. I feel the same way. Lower powered amps sound good, but something is missing and once you lock onto it, it's ...
Thinking of upgrading speakers, any suggestions? 07-05-08: ShadorneOh one thing - if you want that "live factor" then you can pretty much forget everything in dynamic speakers except ATC, PMC and Genelecs. Forget about panels too. What a lame statement! |
