Krell K-300i vs. other integrated amps under 10k
@rc22 thanks for encouraging words. I needed to hear that.  how is the built in streamer and app? Have you tried to use that option ? Is there AirPlay ? Does the absence of the volume knob bother you ? How about the remote ? It seems bulky and not...
bi-amping with Tube and SS amp

bi-amping with Tube and SS amp
Please explain why this would not work?  If you keep the jumper and connect both amps the speaker will sense the signal from either top or bottom binding post. If OP turns off his SS amp, his speaker will only get signal from the amp that is activ...
Using one set of speakers with AV receiver and Lamp amplifier
What is a lamp amplifier? Your question doesn’t make much sense. Can you elaborate

@yyzsantabarbara  How long did you keep your Krell K300i?  Have you ever heard the classic krell Class A sound?  I find it hard to believe their claim of 90W in pure class A without heat. I thought the whole point of class A is inefficiency whi...
How to make small room sound bigger
@clearthinker  Excellent point. The objective is to improve SQ AND avoid near field listening. I enjoy classical music, large scale symphonic works and such. I would like to feel the scale as much as possible to simulate a concert hall. While I k...
How to make small room sound bigger
The question is, do I need to maximize absorption vs diffusion ? I’d rather not do near field listening.
Sonus Faber Elipsa vs. Elipsa SE
I had a chance to hear both. I got the SE version. Much better tweeter. Much better finish. The tweeter is the biggest reason to get the SE. The upgraded tweeter comes off their flagship 45K legendary Stradivarius, which is currently listed on Aud...

Conditioner vs. Surge protector
Thanks for all the feedback.  I hired an electrician, he will install whole house protection.  I will also add higher end conditioners with protection before any stereo component.
Conditioner vs. Surge protector

For ceiling Getting double 5/8 dry wall with green glue and safe and sound stuffing.    what should I do with the floor ? It’s concrete now. I don’t think I can install hardwood on concrete. Thick vinyl floor ?

@barts  why double dry wall if you’re already using rock wool ? Where did you instal spray foam ? Why is glue important?
GIK Vicoustic and others
@ bjp9738 My friend had a similar experience, long wait for poorly packaged damaged panels. They did not replace the entire panel, just the front plates, and he had to fix them himself. Sounds like Vicoustic is more professional and higher quality.

Would double dry wall be sufficient or do I need insulation such as rock wool ? Has anyone tried both?
