Levinson in Lexus
FYI--the Lexus system is evidently more than a rebadged Harman Int'l system. I too thought it was just a rebadged Infinity at first, but then read an article in a car audio mag that gave a little history on the idea. It seems that many Lexus execs...
B&K 307 vs. Denon 5800 Debate
If the Neo 6 is your sticking point, be advised that B&K has "stereo 7" mode--maybe this decides for you? Also, as I may have stated earlier, the factory support that B&K provides is second to nobody.
followup to linn mixing
Where might I find info on this cable?
The best combo under 3K.
I would agree w/ the above post. As a dealer who sells primarily theater systems, I carry the B&K, Pioneer Elite and Denon products. It is my opinion that the B&K offers the best sound quality, build quality and upgradeability of the bunch...
followup to linn mixing
I got so fired up, I forgot to ask---I am currently using basic 16 ga wire. Is the Linn K400 the best wire to use, or should I look at some others too? I need about 12-14 ft runs, prefer biwire. Cost is somewhat important, but I am willing to spen...
followup to linn mixing
Well, after about 2 weeks of listening to the Classik/Keilidh system, I am here to say-WOW. This system does nothing extraordinary--it isn't the highest resolution, doesn't have pounding bass, no characteristics that jump out and grab you. Definit...
please rate B&W 604 S2
Joe -- although the 604 is a great speaker for the money, for a few dollars more you can get the CDM7, which is a truly wonderful speaker. If you get the new NT version, it sounds remarkably close to the Nautilus. See if your dealer has any to lis...
B&K Reference 10/20 Upgrades
As a B&K dealer, I have been researching this since the Ref30 came out. After speaking to B&K several times, I would venture that a Ref 10/20 will be upgradeable to Ref 30 standards EXCEPT for the component switching and the new DACs. You ...
Rear Projection TV
As the owner of an Elite analog PTV, I obviously prefer Pioneer. After viewing the new Elites, I feel they smoke the Mits and new Sony XBR widescreens. The reg Pioneers are damn close to the Elite. I can't speak for the Toshibas and Marantz--I onl...
B&W cdm7nt experiences
I agree with all of the above posts. B&W speakers are extremely revealing. They also require substantially more break-in time than other brands. I think you will be fine after they are broken in. This can take more than 100 hours on your CDM7'...
Center Channel - Help be choose
Shaq, I can be found at edward3rd@aol.com. As a dealer, I am not allowed to sell outside of my territory, but often an employee has personal stuff for sale, or maybe we have a demo piece we need to move. I will be happy to keep in touch with you, ...
Center Channel - Help be choose
Hey Ed--nice name! I sell both B&W and Paradigm in a specialty store. I would consider the CDM9 and the CDM Center to replace your studios. Having listened to both combinations in the same system (B&K AVR307), I feel the jump in price is v...
Progressive DVD players?
One thing to consider--the quality of the HDTV you will buy. On some of the better sets, and especially on a front PJ setup with a doubler, the prog scan DVD does an inferior job compared to the scan conversion available in the TV. I have tried a ...
Will a DAC mellow Denon DCM 360
Hey, Dark--check out the new post today for an RCD970 for $180. I agree with Dekay--I used to have a 970, and liked it pretty well. Although I don't have any firsthand knowledge of the others. The Audio Refinement seems to have a good following. (...
Will a DAC mellow Denon DCM 360
Egg on my face for not reading your followup--You already know that you don't have a digital out!!!! Sorry. I do agree that the 360 is harsh and thin sounding--and I definitely liked the smoothing/warming effect of my cables. They also made the so...
