The Vandersteens are on my radar screen.  And thanks for all the brand recommendations.  Anyone have any direct experience with the KEF 104/2s?

Sounds like the practical voices have it!  Just put up the damned poster and enjoy it!  Though geoffkait's diffuser idea has me thinking.  Too bad there's a big TV between my PSB Imagine T2s...I might have tried it just for kicks! Thanks for the fe...

So...Geoffkait...I have to admit I have no idea what you're talking about.  That doesn't mean much, b/c I barely understand much going on around me anyway.  Are you being funny, or is there something else to tuning a room than taming runaway frequ...

Alternatives to Rogue Stereo 100
Got the Primaluna Prologue 5 this week used from Gig Harbor Audio in Washington.  The KT88s have been replaced with KT120s.  It seems a quality piece of kit.  It's quiet and clean, and I'm initially impressed with the quality.  Clearly the base ex...

Thanks, mac48025.  The Raven stuff looks great.  I thought about an integrated...but I've got real money invested in the Ayre, and I'd like to keep it in the chain.  It's great to learn about American companies making solid audio gear at "reasonab...

So, lowrider57, you're saying that I need tubes in both pre and power section to get true tubiness, and that putting a Rogue after my Ayre will keep my system fairly neutral...as it is now with a solid state amp?

Thanks.  I thought of that, but from what I've deduced, power tubes add more "tubiness" than just a tube-pre.  I really want to swing the pendulum to the other side of the spectrum.  I've intentionally set up a high powered, revealing system.  Now...
In a lot of these threads people say without the room being treated
I've been reading and learning about acoustics over the past year or so...just because I like to learn new stuff.  Got Room EQ Wizard (free), a mic and cheap ADC, and I've had a great time learning to use the software.  It's complex at first, but ...
