ASR Emitter 1 , Does can drive B&W 802d ?
Ps68, please, the 802Ds crush the Martin Logan Spires any day of the week. I demo'd the MLs and couldn't believe how small the sweet spot was, if there was one. Sit slightly off-axis and the entire soundstage was a mess. Bass integration was a jok...
anyone had a listen to the b w 803d's
Duc999, that's probably why they sounded "flat". Marantz or any other "receiver" is not going to do the 800s justice, particularly the D models. At the very least, try them with Rotel, but match them with Classe to really hear the potential of the...
anyone had a listen to the b w 803d's
The 803Ds are amazing speakers, but the 802Ds are better. Best to listen to them in your own room, if possible.
SurroundSound Bar for Bedroom TV
This might be out of range for your budget, but I demoed the B&W Panorama the other week and I was blown away. Generally I have been skeptical of soundbars, but the Panorama has me convinced.Even without a separate sub, the Panorama delivered ...
frequency response - B&W vs. Monitor Audio
Gawdbless, yes there is a reason why tweeters can perform beyond the range of human hearing and that reason is called "marketing" ;)
frequency response - B&W vs. Monitor Audio
If you're getting a powered sub, then it does not matter whatsoever whether your bookshelves go down to 42Hz or 49Hz. More important is how the speakers perform to your liking, in any case.As for the high frequencies, it's really irrelevant whethe...
B&W 801 vs 803s
Mpit, don't be an ass. The Watt Puppy 8s are relatively new and cost about $28K, way more than the 801N, which are discontinued and which the OP is obviously going to buy used. Even second-hand WP8s would cost ways more than the 801N. What a point...
B&W 801 vs 803s
I'm not sure if you have a large enough room, honestly. I've auditioned the 801Ds (not Nautilus) in a room bigger than yours, and I thought the bass was overwhelming and the mid-range slightly muddled, no doubt because of the room size. For your r...
Wilson's new speaker the Sasha is coming.
Great looking speaker, can't wait to hear it.The Magico V3? Please, don't mention that piece of overpriced garbage in the same sentence as Wilson. Talk about the Emperor's New Clothes. I feel sorry for the suckers that blew $25K and having to just...
B&W Nautilus vs Nautilus
I doubt the 803S is better than the 802N, but possibly the 803D is with the diamond tweeter. Still, the old 800 Nautilus range is excellent and worth buying at good prices.
Need a good center for new 805S
Forget about the HTM2D, the HTM4S is the appropriate centre speaker for the 805S, but costs more than $400-$500. You may be able to find a deal here on Audiogon.
B&W 803s vs Focal 1027Be
Between the two speakers, the B&W 803S is not only superior, but way better bang-for-the-buck, something not often said about B&W. For $1,500 more than the Focals, like you mentioned, you can get the 803D even, which will eat the Focals fo...
Watt Puppy that much of an improvement?
Wow, you've got some classic speakers with the 802 S3! To me, that conveys someone with the taste and appreciation for the subtleties of the finer things in life, much more than some car-painted speaker. I own B&Ws, but still I like Wilsons a ...
MBL 121 to full range speaker
Yes, I would love to hear the 111s as well. They seem like they would be more suitable to the size of my own smaller listening room, as I really think the 101s need a large space to breathe and project well. Going back to the OHM comparison, as I'...
MBL 121 to full range speaker
Yes, the 101E is wonderful. This is the only MBL I've heard actually. I've never heard a speaker that projected instrumentation that sounded like it "floated in air" quite like the 101E did.Has anyone ever heard the 101X? They look basically like ...
