Any experiences with a Diyeden Great March II? I have used the Great March (not the II) modified by Pacific Valve & Electric. For the cost I thought the unit sounded very good as compared to the Behringer unit I was using. I have since moved on to a Paradisea + by MHDT Lab. Are you using U...
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi SteveFor what its worth I am also using the Linkwitz Orions with the Chenin pre. I couldn't agree more with Abe's description of the Oorions. I also was a huge fan of electrostatics and went from Martin Logan Ascent i speakers to the Orions and...
Sharing iTunes files between PC & Mac? I am using a iBook G4(used) as my music server and have had no problems what so ever. I was going to upgrade my Jolida JD-100 cd player and set a budget of $3000. I decided to try a listen to the laptop server/dac combo to see what it was all abou...
Preamp Deal of the Century Arkio, on one hand the dc power from batteries is a good thing for clean power. But here is something to seriously cosider, with a 16 hour charge life on the battery pack that means on a day like yesterday when I had my system on from 7am thru 2 a...
Preamp Deal of the Century No you are not over reacting and you are not the only one. Posts like the one you are refering to are part of the reason I don't post on here very often at all, its just not worth it. And it bseems to be getting nothing but worse.
Jolida JD1000A 1 tube will not Bias I think if you talked to the people at Jolida they could tell you exactly which resistor to check. I don't want to give you any wrong info on that, as it was a few years ago, I did not do the repair myself, and I can't remember exactly which resis...
Jolida JD1000A 1 tube will not Bias I had exactly the same problem in a JD1000A that I owned a few years back. Turned out to be a bad resistor in the biasing circuit. A fairly inexpensive repair.
Preamp Deal of the Century yea and I should have said PCC88 tubes, not PC88, all thumbs today
Preamp Deal of the Century The mullards are excellent tubes. I originally had the same condition with the high end being a little"hot" for my taste. I tried different 6922 tubes but when I put a pair of telefunken PC88 tubes in for the 6922s it took that little extra off th...
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi Tvad, I'm using a dynavector karat 17d mk2, output .23mv, loading at 100 ohms. Thats on a Chenin Pre. What tubes are you using in the phono section of your preamp?
Cartridge recommendations VPI Scoutmaster Hey Tom, what differences did you hear between the 17D2 and the 17D3. I have been using the 17D2 on my scoutmaster with the signature arm since I've had it (about a year and a half). I was just wondering since I will have to replace the cartridge ...
Zero feedback and class A,which is better? Happynick, Ralph speaks the truth here. I own Logan ascent i speakers and have used more than a few amps with these speakers both solid state and tube. I recently purchased a pair of the original atma-sphere MA-1 mono blocks used. I use them with ...
Anyone here using vintage speakers? KLH Model 6.....I use them in a scond (bedroom) system and they still sound great.
What tubes are you using in your Jolida JD 100? I'll throw in a third on the 5751s in this player. I settled on 1956 rva triple mica black plates in my system. I really liked the sound of all the 5751s I tried over the 12ax7s. Although I tried some telefunken smooth plate 12ax7s and those sound...
Jolida Envoy Preamp I've got to agree with samzx12 here. I've owned an envoy preamp for a year and a half now and think it sounds great. I have telefunken smooth plate 12ax7 and mullard 12at7 tubes in it. I listen to probably 80% lp and 20% cd. The phono section in t... |
