ABX testing with AQ Dragon power cords
AQ Dragon is the top of the line power cord from Audioquest. My neighbors both have ears, 2 channel systems of their own and have spent time in my house listening to my gear. But you're right, they didn't show me their "audiophile" credentials.

I have Mogami cables made by Take Five Audio in Canada. The speaker wire are Mogami 3104, XLRs are Mogami 2549 & the power cords are Powerline 10 with Furutech connectors. All cables are quite well made and I’ve been using them for about 5 yea...
Audiophile frame of mind
The only thing funnier than thinking that uber expensive power cables will make a noticeable difference is demanding that those cables  be pre-burned in. Two myths for the price of one.
Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
I've spent some time on the ASR site & didn't care for it much. Not that I'm against measuring audio equipment, it was the whole feeling of the forum...  lots of seemingly aggressive people shouting their opinion, mocking others who disagree. ...
I see the issue with ABX blind testing
How is this so complicated? It is very, very straightforward. You quoted my post and ended the quote before the reason it's difficult was stated... But from what I can see the benefit, if there is one, will be most noticeable system wide. In o...
Audiophilism is a hobby
From what I can tell an Audiophile Billy is anyone who does things differently than the way I do. If my system is inexpensive and my records scratched, it's the guy with Wilson speakers, McIntosh amps and UHQR records. For some it's the authors of...
I see the issue with ABX blind testing
It seems that most people on both sides of the cable debate accept the fact that the placebo effect is real... if someone is in pain & a doctor gives you a placebo & tells you that it will cure your pain, you may find pain relief. If a sig...
Turntable advice
Probably late to the game, but I received my Pure Fidelity Harmony a week ago & love it. They just started offering it with the Audio  Origami arm & I prefer it to the Illustrious that I initially received (had an issue & had to be rep...
I don't get it...Exile on main Street-Blue
I get what OP is saying. Every so often I read some recommendation  of Blue, or I see it's offered on Acoustic Sounds as a 45rpm Ultradisc & I think I  should revisit it & see if like it. Each time I try I get about 3 songs in  & have ...

do you think i tune my room by ears with 100 resonators  with astonishing results  but all is wrong because my eyes were open ?  Odd argument. No one but you thinks that you tune your room with 100 resonators with astonishing results. You make ...
If you have a nice system why do you really need room treatments?
Yeah I've got an area rug that I plan to put there and see if it has any effect. Aesthetically I don't need it but if it improves the SQ I'll move it in and out as the room function changes.

Oh yes. Put your stereo at any price into an untreated gym and play it really loud. If you enjoy it that way, more power to you. I can attest to the fact that it is not fun to listen to a stereo in an untreated gym. I've been working on mine fo...
Your absolute top ten favorite tracks.
To Sheila - Smashing Pumpkins Black Night White Light - Frankie Goes to Hollywood Uninvited - Alanis Morissette Dissolved Girl - Massive Attack Atoms for Peace - Thom Yorke All are very unique songs that bring out the best in your system. The...

I moved the sub to the right, between the stand and the right speaker, about an inch behind the front of the speaker. I've also ordered a second sub. As for the cables, I'm satisfied with my assessment. I don't believe anything I do will result i...

2) You wrote there are 7 PCs but it was not 7 PCs. Some were just repeat. It’s like a trap and bring a confusion. ABX implies that you listen to A, then B and then X which will be either A or B. Paul McGowan of PS Audio is of the same opinion t...
