Need advice on how to sound insulate my room
Green glue plus the extra drywall will really help with everything but the low base. The "glue" name is misleading. It really does work. Resilient channel is an option, but more work, plus you loss a little height. I don't believe that the resilie...
Need advice on how to sound insulate my room
You might want to look at the tread on building a home theater on AVS forum. This is a very common topic in building a theater. Insulation is not a very good insulator. You should look at applying another layer of drywall, especially in the ceilin...
One source delivering higher volume.
Winoguy17 -I think he means the inputs on the receiver (Cd, aux), not the actual sources.

Realremo - J River does not believe memory playback really adds much to a properly functioning, well tuned system and I do not really hear a difference using it. I agree that using WASAPI or kernel streaming versus going through a mixer are more i...

Realremo - JRiver does have a memory playback option. It does it on a track by track basis. Loading up a track takes negligible time and is done at the very end of the last track and during the gap. This method means the amount of memory available...

Thanks Tim. I did notice that they stopped selling the product. Now I know why. But I will continue to keep an eye on them.
New amp? Thiel...
Glad you got a 334 with new caps and like it. I have a 432 and really like it with my Sonus Faber Cremona (origina). Obviously not everyone likes them, but in the right system they are special. Congratulations.

Check into the issues with the caps on the 3xx amps. They are known to fail and require replacement. If they have not been replaced there is a good chance they may need to be and the repair is expensive through the Levinson repair services. Great ...
Would like USB ADC w/ input level control
You could add line attenuators between the Linto and the Line Streamer when the signal is too hot. You could knock the Linto down to 54 db, but that does require some work. I do not know much about the Line Streamer, but could you take the RCA out...
Analytical or Musical Which way to go?
Slightly off topic - It is interesting that the holy grail is live music. For me, many of the venues for live music are far from optimal. Many major concert halls are wonderful, but the lessor ones can be pretty mediocre. And a major orchestra in ...

From the 6Moons article, it looks like there was galvanic isolation on the original HiFace. I missed that originally. Thanks Elberoth2 for pointing that out. Since my original one does have ground continuity from the USB to RCA, I would guess that...

Elberoth2 - the question remains, does it isolate the ground? Any idea? I find nothing in their literature. Thanks.

Elberoth2 - does it isolate both the data lines and the ground?

Thanks Tim. Good to know. Musical Fidelity is claiming isolation, but only because of Toslink. My HiFace is clearly not isolated. Maybe I will one of these a try. Or maybe I will just cut up a USB cable. But I do like the idea of external power. T...

Thanks. I am not sure I believe that theories about noise on the grounds, but it cannot hurt to try breaking the loop. I know my HiFace is not ground isolated. On the $5,000 Classe CP 800 preamp/DAC with USB input, they tried to galvanically isola...
