Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
As in former post I do believe that Mac is good gear, however both their preamps and amps are slightly on the dark and slow side for me. I think that for example CAT gear is significantly better. And I work for a mac dealer!

Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
My own experince: I used to work at a store which sold both Mac and Sunfire, among others. We demoed these lots and the Mac kills the Sunfire. No doubts. However, Mac tube gear with the stock tubes (275 2102...) was killed by a Air tight amp we br...
B&W Signature 800 Vs. the new 800D Diamond
I have listened to the 803D's and I can say with all confidence that the tweeters in these are better. Base to me seems a bit tighter as well, but that could just be a new speaker. Just my 2 cents.
HELP best analog system brand new for $5,000.00
Hmmmm,Beware of buying equipment on "sale", avoid the temptation to buy something because it is 20% off (or whatever). Think of the value of the equipment and not a discount. Most places still make money even if they "say" its 50 % off. Guess what...
Vandersteen 3A Sig vs. Von Schweikert VR4 Jr.
One thing that always strikes me about Vandersteen 3's and 2's is how you must be right in the middle of the sweet spot for them to sound good. Move just a few feet and they loose something. Well not just something, but they loose everything! They...
VR-4jr or Gallo Nucleus Reference 3
I own a pair of Vr-4jrs and believe that when properly set up and placed into the correct system they are very good. I am using a 80wpc tube (air tight) amp and it sounds great. However, remember that the most imporant part of any Hi fi system is ...
Meadowlark Ospreys II ? Low Feq. Response?
I agree, if you can in or close to the sweet spot the Silver sigs are amazing! But in todays dollars they are probably a pair of 12,000$!
Low freq. from small drivers? Is it possible
hmmm, very interesting! For example: So the base out of a twin 6.5 like the b&W Naut 804, could be good, but not great.
Meadowlark Ospreys II ? Low Feq. Response?
Thanks!Yep thats me with the silver sigs. Do not get me wrong the silver sigs are one of the best speakers ever produced. However, the listening window for them is very small. If your are in it, great! If not, so-so, and I want more base in a spea...
Meadowlark Ospreys II ? Low Feq. Response?
ACK! Hmmm, that worries me! How far from the wall behind them were they? Was this different than the dealers?
B&W N 805 vs. N 805 Sig. Opinions?

HELP Give Speaker Advice Please
My room is medium in size, it is a living room kitchen combination. Probably 500-600 sq feet with a vaulted ceiling. The speakers can be floor standing, or placed on stands, there is no book shelf there.
